I bought this 109 4 years ago and never tried to start it till last week. Glass bowl only has 3/8 of an inch of what I would describe as grey sand like mixture, solid in btm. I know it’s previous owners were putting lead replacement liquid in tank, could it be this substance that’s been left...
This is very interesting,I am just getting the bits together to take out a petrol from my 109 ex ffr and replace with a 300 tdi. I have run diesels for the last 40 years and am more comfortable working on them. What realistic mpg can you get with a petrol 2. 1/4? I was intending to strip down...
Fixed it,bought new hub, even though no play at all in bearings. The bearings in the old one were very rough, so that must have been what was causing the fault to show on Nanocom. Couple more jobs then mot next week fingers crossed.
Thanks for the reply, the hdc and tc had been turned off, turned back on now. Unpluged rh rear sensor and it reads 950 ohms so would seem ok, sensor voltages at rest are both rh 2.21 volts both near side 2.23 volts. The osr showed no volts before I unpluged the sensor. Went out for a test drive...
Abs light on all the time, nanocom tells me no output from o,s,r, so could it be a broken wire?.The other two tc and hdc don’t light up at all, could I have inadvertently turned them off with nanocom?. Or could the amigos be a connected problem?.
Battery and heat plugs arrived last night, fitted this morning and started first time. So thats in tank fuel pump replaced, resynced imobiliser, new battery and heat plugs all decided to go faulty at the same time.
Thanks everyone for your input.
I know I am going to have to look at them, just read a few cases of plugs breaking and dont want that extra problem,I will get diesel up to last two injectors then remove inlet manifold to get to plugs and test resistence of each one to identify any problem ones.
Got another battery connected with jump leads and it turns over much faster, got diesel at the injectors but not an awful great amount. The immobiliser code is still the same I entered, so that seems to be sorted, I had only cracked one injector pipe off to check for diesel, I have just done...
Immobilisation code was wrong, changed that and got diesel at injectors but not started, I dont think the battery is helping or heat plugs. Cant get new battery till next week sometime will borrow one later to try again and test heat plugs. This is a great place to live except when you need...
Thanks for that Marty, weather very rough today might not be able to get door to shed open, it faces directly into wind if, I get in I might not get out again, will try when wind drops.
Richard.
I only tried this as the person who had a similar problem was told to do it on a P38 of similar age. I dont know how to do what you say and am getting near the point of breaking both P38,s and either sticking to a TD5 110 or even going back to 300 TDI.
I did what I read on Nanocom site re security learn, on Nanocom P38 . EDC . Engine . Utility . Secutity Learn, maybe I stupidly thought that would re sync things, I can hear what I think is glow plug timer runing, will test voltage in morning. I have not had any imobiliser notification only...
Used vehicle one day next would not start, after much searching no fuel out of inj pump or into it, fitted new pump into tank still wont start, then started after one run of heat plug/ prime operation. Fantastic boxed everything up and left it. Next morning it wont start, eventually got fuel up to...
Found out how to save setting from air to coils on Nanocom forum, been for a drive and its stayed up.Looking through settings and noticed the right sensor that has shown 0 volts all the time now shows 4.87 volts.
I have found one of the connecting rubers on the link to the faulty sensor is broken, but it still moves as it should, it goes down level so I dont think it is sided.
I live in Orkney it takes time for parcels to reach us, 3 to 4 days more than usual, I need to go to the main Island on monday, as fery sugested I set suspension to coils with Nanocom to allow me to travell 10 miles. I do not want or intend to change to coils.2 new bags and 2 new height sensors...
