    Freelander aerodynamics... spoiler???

Ignore some of the negative comments. http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-LF1040 Outta stock but plenty of replicas out there. Imo a Freelander could definitely use an aero kit, the wall that is the front bumper is 90% of the problem, and the wing mirrors being basically flappy high...

TD4 Flywheel - Solid or stay Dual Mass ?

The crank in our car and the 75 is not forged. The crank in the M47tud20 (common rail e46 onwards) is forged The m47r shares the same block as the previous generation m47d20 which didn't have a forged crank either. Rover / Steyr did all the development work and then bmw let them make the...

TD4 Flywheel - Solid or stay Dual Mass ?

Dual. Look towards the 75 forums and the problems boys have with snapped cranks when they have single mass. Cranks in our engines are cast not forged and do give problems with snapping more and more. Infact several of the tuners won't touch a 75 with solid mass flywheel conversion, so surely...

Freelander 1 New commercial van project

Yes!!! My she passed mot today. All in with several spare parts off my old one that was going to scrap and mot test it cost me a grand total of a bit of my spare time, £80 on parts I had to buy including servicing bits plus mot fees. Plus the new back door at £40 as the old one was smashed by...

    LRO go buy it :D

Said all along freelander will start to be recognised as a budget wagon by the majority soon enough. A freelander can be driven as well as a defender 90% of the time, it just requires a better driver imo. Infact I feel that many people rely on the various diff etc and the freelander is a...

2004 TD4 Snapped MAF sensor connector

Number 1. Dude. Chill, it's a forum of enthusitic owners. Number 2. Well done that's a great diy job We call that in Ireland the maf bypass. Many doing similar for a decade in L series cars to varying degrees of success. I'm colour blind. And don't attempt any wiring at all. How bad? I bought a...

2004 TD4 Snapped MAF sensor connector

It's beyond me why you guys don't go for a maf less remap. Ive one in my 75 now and I'm coming up to 100k since it was done on a car with 250k on it. The remaps was cheaper than a genuine maf alone. Took my car from 113bhp to 152 bhp. Rolling road proven several times now, and as it was an...

Freelander 1 New commercial van project

I've also got an old trailer I want to convert into a suitable tow trailer for it. It's smallish but ideal for what I've in mind.

Freelander 1 New commercial van project

Planning to take it anywhere it will let me go. Lol. All going well have several off road days but my potential next job might require a competent off road vehicle for when the road cars arnt suited.

Freelander 1 New commercial van project

Well that's her almost done. Rear door fitted cheers to Nicky for the panel which is a dam sight better than my old one. Bloody nightmare to align and tbh its not perfect but it will do for now. Just gotta sort microswitch and two exhaust rubbers next and that's her mot ready.

Freelander 1 New addition to the family, now have the whole set

1 standard water feature. Try sealing along the top of the black plastic the window slides into at the rear. 2 check your pcv filter, that can really choke the engine up. If that's grand (likely not) then start looking towards maf or also cat blockage from being parked up so long. 3 rear...

    Snorkels for freelanders

I'd like one purely for function, I know a freelander isn't a deep swimmer but after last few years floods here near me the only car that got my wife to work was our freelander. And even that was a bit dodgy, it's just nice to have the option. As for td4 alternator has anyone considered...

Freelander 1 New commercial van project

Stay van 100%. Have a nice 75 auto as a daily also of I need car etc. They are hardcore, bit of noise but they will go anywhere I was well impressed on the 1.8 and dare say in the td4 will be better. Very good in rain and general handling surprisingly but I don't drive the freelander hard.

Freelander 1 New commercial van project

Thanks folks. 205 / 80 / 16. Aa the Rims are pre vented fronts I needed spacers to fit onto vented fronts so it's actually a necessity. Plus means I've now a set of 16s for my dad's freelander for free so he can maybe get something more aggressive eventually.
