Well i wasnt going to but several reports on here saying people having them for 2 or 3 years with heavy abuse and are still fine so i went for it lol.

Clutch is slipping so started on it last weekend. Decided to take the engine out as i also need to fit my 3 gauge senders and that requires changing the oil filter housing for a one i have modified. I am also ditching the oil cooler. Got a Britpart clutch, uprated clutch fork and NSK release...

Might want to give people more than 90mins to answer :D I have heard of it and think it could be good on a petrol engine which will have low deposits but on a 150k old school diesel I am not so sure. Things wear adn its the carbon sometimes maintaining correct piston ring gaps etc so clean...

Why do you need to change the oil? Granted yes it will need new coolant but you have to change it every now and then so some fresh wont hurt :)

Are you running it on veg? is there plenty of fuel in there?

Those with a Britpart clutch, does include their release bearing as i know bearings are not their strong point lol

Yer I have changed just the transfer box and was caught out by the weight of just that lol.

So the clutch is starting to slip in 4th and 5th around 2000rpm. got a Wales trip planned next month so want to do it ASAP. Looking through some threads here I see the borg & Beck (or AP as its now known) is probably the clutch of choice (did see the Britpart 'Heavy duty' one is stupid cheap...

Had a maxon. Was looking at the 881, its £85 on Thunderpole.

Looks like my CB has died (no display and its seems to be stuck on one channel (not the one i use :mad:) so its new CB time. Any particuarly better than others, any to avoid? Looking at around the £60-80 mark :)

Awesome, just ordered one. Tried with a similar thing from a garden centre but as its designed to be used with water it didnt like oil much lol. Wasnt too bad if you warmed it up a bit foirst but still a faff. Hopefully this should be ideal.

Not if you get a TD5 one :( Best way to tell if its the clutch is to try and pull away in 4th, if it stalls then its not the clutch :)

I use a funnel with 2m of hose on the end. Stick hose in box and then hold funnel up the side of the landy and pour in. you have to be careful as there is an obvious delay between what you are pouring in and when it reaches the box so over filling is likely :D I keep meaning to get a syringe but...

Yer I have a 'Sport' system on mine and its just a backbox and its pretty quite (better than when the middlebox was blowing :D) i did start it up with just the downpipe on and it was horrendous :D sounded like a banger racer :D

Island 4x4 have the Denso ones for around £140 but a decent refurbed one will be just as good. Better than the chinese £50 ones on ebay :D
