    Running Board and Parts

On the subject of running boards and mud flaps (probably shouldn't have mixed two questions in one post): I've seen a few Discovery 2's driving around without running boards and they appear to have mud flaps fixed about ca. 1ft back from the front wheel. As previously mentioned, my mud flaps...

    Roof Bars or Rack

I'm still struggling to find the roof bars that I'd like. Thule seem to do them but they are only two and these affix to the inbuilt rails. I wanted something that would extend down the full length of the roof. If someone knows where I could get these from then I'd be grateful. I wonder, is it...

    Running Board and Parts

Well I'm new to, what is a whole new and bizarre world of Land Rover parts. When I have bought parts previously for my Fiat from Eurocarparts it has been very simple and the parts are good quality (usually European made). This whole landscape with Land Rover, the different parts, not being able...

    Running Board and Parts

Thanks for all the advice. In terms of 'parts suppliers', no-one mentioned JGS4x4, and I wish that I had listened to the recommendations. I just ordered two ride height sensors from JGS4x4 which were described as a quality part. They were missing both the two bolts needed to fix the main block...

    Spare Wheel Cover Stickers

Thanks Brian, That is what I thought: maybe it is better to have a new wheel cover made. Can you recall the name of the company?

    Spare Wheel Cover Stickers

My wife wants to advertise her business on the back of our Discovery 2's spare wheel cover. She's looked at different companies who sell stickers for months and has been hesitating over whether they are any good. I am also a bit sceptical about whether the stickers will adhere properly. I...

    Help please! Sunken rear end.

Thanks. I understand what you are telling me. The cable ties and wire are just a temporary measure. I wanted to know whether I could replace them myself (without having any equipment to calibrate them) or whether I should drive it to a garage. The ride height is now perfect. As I have thought...

    Help please! Sunken rear end.

Since both my ride height sensors are held on with cable ties and wire because all screw holes and rubber separators are split, can someone tell me please: if I replace these ride height sensors with new ones, will the car re-stabilise or will its ride height need calibrating? Thanks, Andrew

    Help please! Sunken rear end.

All sorted now. It was back to normal ride height in a few minutes. Thanks again, for both your help. Andrew

    Help please! Sunken rear end.

Great. Thank you all very much. I got the engine going: the fuel filter electric plug didn't seem very tight, so I cleaned it up and forced it in a bit further, then persevered with cranking the engine until it fired up. My question was to be: how long will the pump take to level the car out, as...

    Help please! Sunken rear end.

Thanks again. So it should pump itself back up. I therefore need to find out why the engine cut out a couple of seconds after starting, which may be due to me replacing the fuel filter. I'll check out the electrics now. Any other ideas would be welcome. I don't suppose me spraying wax treatment...

    Help please! Sunken rear end.

Thanks. So should it rectify itself? Do I need to get the engine going for this to happen?

    Help please! Sunken rear end.

I have recently spent four days under my Discovery 2 treating the chassis with Bilt Hamber UB wax sealant. The car has had its wheels off, and when I did the back end it has been on axle stands (positioned under the rear axle). Yesterday I noticed that the rear end had sunk down. A picture is...

    How to Remove Mud Flaps

Can someone tell me how to remove the rear mudflaps for my Discovery 2? Though a simple job, I can see that there are two cross-headed screws on the outer side, but specifically it is the two 'fixings' directly behind the wheel that I can't figure out. What are they? Mine are heavily rusted, but...

    Preventing Chassis Rust

I've just done the job using two tins (for brush application) and one spray canister of Bilt Hamber UB. I did the full chassis. The 'flakiness' was mostly old underseal and though there was surface rust, most of the chassis wasn't bad. Fuel use should be a lot better as I must have excavated a...

Thanks, I've just read that previous post. It's very informative. Andrew

    Preventing Chassis Rust

Having recently purchased my 2003 Discovery 2, I now like it very much and want to protect the chassis from rust. It is not bad but there is a lot of surface rust - I took it to have its fluids changed so that I could draw a line under this aspect of the service history and the mechanic...

    Roof Bars or Rack

My Discovery 2, 2003, has the two standard roof rails and I've been looking at something to allow me to put ladders or timber, etc on the roof. I thought about those racks, but the only ones I can find are near to £1000! Am I looking in the wrong places? Also, do these racks fit onto the roof...

    What is this part?

Great, thanks for the quick responses. I thought that it wasn't anything major. Andrew

    What is this part?

While investigating my recently purchased Discovery 2, TD5, I found that part of the inner rear wheel had corroded and dropped off. I've tried to find the name of the part that I need in the Haynes and other manuals but can't. Can someone please tell me what the part is called? I've attached a...
