    I doubt the gearing would allow 135mph, diesel fuel burns a lot slower than petrol, diesel doesn't lend itself to high rpm on a std 2.5 litr 5 cylinder engine with a rotation mass meant for torque.

    Its def possible, but you would either be running on the absolute limits of the turbo and fueling, with an ecu flashed to run an older tech engine with euro 3 controls. Or would need a vnt, larger injectors, a fmic and a td5 ecu heavily mapped with a seperate boost controller to manage the vnt.

    Exactly. An ecu can only get the best out of the hardware. You would need a vnt for a start, or a bigger turbo.

    To recalibrate a new v6 tdi ecu for the older td5 engine is ridiculous. Its not just as simple as flashing a map for a 5 pot. The newer v6 would have more control strategies for fueling and smoke control, but they would be of no use to an older euro 3 engine. Its not impossible, but its like...

    You have me thinking actualy. When I had a rover 220 coupe turbo 'tomcat', a common mod was to swap out the t25 cold side and cartridge for a t28, which provided more boost at lower charge temps.     yep, basically its the exhaust side with the built in manifold which is unique to land rover. the cool-side could be off anything with a t25 turbo.

    Stalling it can be done by undoing the bleed screw on the fuel filter as said above. Works very quickly.

    I think flow is the likely cause. Hot water leaves the cylinder head, to the matrix, then from the matrix to the lower rad to water pump pipe. The pipe out of the matrix is Luke warm to cool but the pipe into the matrix is hot. Might try flushing the matrix.

    Cheers chap, I've just bought a fan spanner. Might whip off the fan and see if it helps. I like the idea of keeping the fan. If it is the fan I will buy a new one.

    They won't draw air, I would say check the pump timing. The edc pump can compensate something like 7 degrees plus and minus. Anything outside this will not run. Anything at the edge of 7 degrees either way and it doses not have adequate room for further advance/retard. I may be wrong about the...
