Lol i have not even attempted to look for the alarm ecu etc. i was being laZy hopeing somone may have had the same problem and know what might be wrong. Yes the alarm sounder is still there. Where does the alarm ecu live?

They have been used for years on 8v ve pump vw diesels. Very common engine, codes 1z ahu Alh etc. It's a needle lift sensor, they probably don't produce them anymore, but there are plenty out there.

I believe you can use the injector body from something like a vw tdi engine of the same age, and just get it reset with a nozzle to suit. It's just a Bosch injector, not specific to land rover.

Stick a jump lead on the solenoid and the positive terminal. If it starts you have your answer.

I had the same issue, no fuelling advance in cold weather. I cut back the loom and fitted a new plug on an extended loom. Old plug had crumbled and caused the two spades to touch.
