Someone else had an issue like this where their snorkel was restricting power, cant remember who it was though. Is the flexi pipe collapsing? Does the pickup ram have a water separator built in? Does the pickup have any sort of membrane in it?

In theory, the 2 stroke will absorb the diesel and thicken it up very slightly. Plus 2 stroke (decent 2 stroke) has the apitc/jasofb additives which create low ash burn conditions. All helps I guess! You do need to do a few fuel filter changes though to start with!

I would have thought the above would apply to the td5. A remap would see slightly better mpg though.

I need to find out if there is a temp sensor for the incoming air in the maf. Because if there is then it cant be just removed. You would have to write it out with a new chip

The td5 does use the maf for fuel trim control. Not sure why it made a difference in your case, i have seen the fuel maps, they dont have maf compensation. They do have air temperature compensation, i cant remember if the edc has a temp sensor in the maf or the inlet manifold.

no, the maf sesnor has no control over fuel, its simply there to manage the egr valve on the edc system. The map sensor (cant remember where it is in the bay) is a small box with a pipe leading from it, it measure the manifold absolute pressure ie boost.

Sorry, i keep forgetting the 300 times from no.4 not no. 3. It sounds like the lift sensor hasn't failed. And yes the injector seats slightly higher. So at least that rules that out. Next to try is the map sensor. Try unpluging it and seeing if there is any difference.
