    Rear chassis rails repair

You can get galvanised half or quarter chassis. You may just need a quarter. e.g. (but not necessarily this one) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/304036146833

Disco 4 (LR4) Replacing top brake light

Hi all. I'm generally nicing up my car (having spent s****loads on a rebuild) and the high level brake light is cracked so I'm thinking of replacing it. I know this is a real pain as the bond used to stick it on is a nightmare to shift. But while looking for a replacement I've seen some...

    Disco 4 (LR4) Annoyed

I had an email yesterday morning saying the manager would be in contact, but nothing since. I'm starting to wonder if they're even bothered about my concerns. How long do I leave it before getting legal?

Disco 2 Sunroof opened on its own and won't close

Managed to get it closed. Possibly an intermittent fault. Still likely the controller so worth replacing I think.

Disco 2 Sunroof opened on its own and won't close

So after my D4 pallava I thought, at least my D2 is ok. Then after starting it today the front sunroof tilted fully open and now won't budge. I'm guessing its the controller. Does that sound about right? It has a slight leak I think, just enough to drip down the nearside B pillar. The previous...

    Disco 4 (LR4) Annoyed

Another thing I noticed is that some of the wheel arches and trims seem to be coming away slightly, like some of the clips are broken. I would expect some clips to break if you remove those, but (1) I would replace the broken ones and (2) would these need to be removed? I guess maybe if the body...

    Disco 4 (LR4) Annoyed

Currently sat in Burnham On Crouch station waiting for my train(s) back to Taunton. I was expecting to be collecting my Disco 4 after the engine was rebuilt, but on arriving there is some damage that wasn’t there before. 1. One of the spotlight pillars on the bumper has broken and someone has...

    Freelander 1 Freelander EV

I might set one up if I thought it would be useful. This one has been the best for a long time though. I have domain FL1.UK ready to go (no offence to non-UKers). We could use any advertising revenue (if any) to help fund scientific projects like yours ;)

Both good suggestions. Thanks will try today.

Freelander 1 2003 TD4 3dr Tail lights issue (Not an April 1st gag)

Hi all, I've got an interesting intermittent tails lights issue. Sometimes neither side works but when I indicate the light on that side alternates with the indicator. Sometimes only 1 side works then indicating makes it the other side start working Sometimes it's a combination of the above, and...

    Freelander 1 Freelander EV

According to ChatGPT (I couldn't be bothered to work it out) 10Kg of hydrogen at 350 Bar and 10 degrees C occupies 9150 litres (9.15 cubic meters).. That's quite a big tank! ChatGPT told me you could use 4-5 standard cylinders of 30 cm diameter and 1.5 meters height for this. It didn't seem...

Actually he said they were at 350 bar, which means even less!

    Freelander 1 Freelander EV

Interesting. The guy at JCB said a baco would use around 6-10 Kg of hydrogen a day (depending on the engine). Unfortunately he didn't mention how this would compare with diesel, but I think those engines are 4-5 litres.

    Freelander 1 Freelander EV

Thinking of agricultural use, JCB have developed a fuel bowser that can carry almost the equivalent amount of hydrogen that it's diesel counterpart would normally carry. The amount isn't quite as much but is as near as makes very little difference. This isn't obviously for long distances, where...
