Next time ask it to run some unit tests on the code - should minimise bugs :)

    wonky plastic thingy !!

[Deleted post] Scratch that, I think I'm wrong. It comes off fairly easily anyway, just check along the front edge and sides for the bolts.

Disco 4 (LR4) "Diagnostic Programming Charge"

Yep, Service & MoT & prop bearing. £25 is minor in comparison but still feels like a ripoff.

Disco 4 (LR4) "Diagnostic Programming Charge"

This £25 charge appeared on the invoice for a service from my local friendly LR specialist. When I asked I was told "It's to reset the service reminder". £25?? Pretty sure I could do it myself in 30 seconds with my Hawkeye!

    Freelander 1 Freelander EV

Tip: "cd e*" would do instead of "cd esp32ret_updater" as it's the only subdir beginning with e ;) (Us software geeks are lazy) Interesting in a geeky kind of way. It's a shame the fuel guage isn't controlled via the CAN bus, that would be a good one to adapt. I'm wondering what else it's...

    Disco 2 Fuel Tank Cradle

Decided I'd better give the chassis the Lanoguard teatment before winter. Then noticed the fuel tank cradle had broken off at the front, and is just hanging from the rear mountings. It doesn't seem to be actually supporting the tank, so can it be replaced without disturbing the tank?

What have you done to your Freelander today

As MOT is due soon, I decided today is the day I tackle the issue with the handbrake warning light. Checked fluid level - looks ok, but noticed the sensor was broken! Took it out and wedged a wire in to short the connection and the light goes out as it should. It looks like there are some used...

Freelander 1 Soft Roof - missing bit?

Hi all. I appear to have all the parts for my soft roof, except I seem to remember there's a bit that stops the rear window dropping down. Unless it's stuck to another bit and I haven't noticed it yet. Does anyone know what it is and can they maybe send a pic and some rough dimensions as I'm...

    Disco 2 TD5 - Intermittent charging

Yes, it did occur to me that it could still be a connection issue inside the alternator itself, and I could be chasing that forever unless I at least try another one first. And as you say, meanwhile I'm potentially damaging the battery. There seem to be some new OEM ones on Ebay for £120 ish, I...

    Disco 2 TD5 - Intermittent charging

Hi, next on my list of problems to fix is the intermittent battery charging. I have a hard-wired voltmeter. This says 14.1 sometimes but other times varies around 12v which reduces over time (I assume due to not charging). Then it may suddently start working and jump to 14+ volts. Originally the...

My D2 now has reversing lights and rear parking sensors, for the first time since I've owned it! (Broken pin in XYZ switch) Now just need to (1) get the chassis rails welded, (2) work out why the alternator only works part-time, (3) Fix the intermittent "3 Amigos" issue, (4) clear the sunroof...
