    glow plug testing

Glowplugs are only electrical elements, if there is a spark when you put a wire from the battery to it, there is a circuit and the plug is probably O.K. If there is no spark it is open circuit and faulty. Seems a pretty good way to test them.

    2.5V6 Fuel and Water problems

Take it back to the garage, they must have done something wrong, are you sure it is not leaking anywhere from the fuel rail. They have push in fittings held in with a clip and an 'O' ring to seal them, and are a pig to refit when you remove an inlet manifold to change the thermostat.

    bit of an annoying one

Get oyour car CHECKED, if a defender has hit your back wheel hard enough to bend his bumper into his wheel, he has probably damaged your drive chain and rear sub-frame. Probably enough to write it off.

    Water loss

Your cooling water always flows around the heater matrix. When the heater is turned on the air flow is directed over the matrix, when it is tuned off the air flow is directed away from the matrix.

Freelanders rad's are miles to big and so the bottom hoses are normally cold. Are you getting cold air or no air out of the vents ? Mine had hardly any air coming out so it felt cold. I removed the pollen filter and now it warms up lovely.

    help with removing talegate handle

If you have another from Ebay, why are you trying to fix your old one ? The threads are bolts moulded into the plactic handle, there isn't an easy fix if they break, which is quite common.
