So just reconnected the battery and everything came back on locks still cycling though and alarm going off. Going to do drivers door lock microswitches as per data's instructions and see were we go from there.

Yeah was ok before only changed battery because the other failed 2 months after guarantee run out. Battery connections are tight had to pry the clamps open to get them on. Car started fine after battery change, then just died whilst I was resetting the windows. Didn't have time to investigate...

Don't use expanding foam it will wick water, better using bouyancy foam for boat applications

pics as promissed, you can just about make out the bit that broke and jambed at the entrance to the lock

Just did that to mine, bush fixed with a piece of flat bar and 2 small self tappers

Thanks for the offer but it was the other side under the metal plate that covers the latch I got the offending bit of plastic out by levering the plate up. It's only a press fit.

No way of getting at it insitu. The piece was at the striker plate entry point into the lock and the door wouldn't open far enough. When the site will allow I will get the pics up.

In my case part of the plastic case had broken off and jammed at the front of the latch so it wouldn't go past.

So eventually got through the sticker plate with hacksaw blade. Got the lock out after a lot of swearing and cursing and a lot of blood. Got it on the bench and tested it as per martys test sheet. All came back OK, so proceeded to dismantle the lock and found this bit, it was jamming the latch...
