I’ve managed to sort most of my dents out. I do have a buckled rear corner to sort so I’ll do that when I change the cappings. I have far too many different coloured panels to count as part of the charm! o_O

I’ve got a bit of surface rust up there so I’ll be wire wheeling and rust treating all that when I strip the doors down for painting. what method did you use to paint it? It looks good to me. I don’t want to do anything showroom standard myself as I do t want to cry when I scratch it up.

I managed to do both front doors off repaired and refitted in a day and that’s as a first timer so it is possible on a quick turn around. I do love that colour scheme. Is that gloss or satin?

I just managed to get a genuine Safari snorkel off eBay for £26. Bit of silicon oil to polish it back up and it’ll be like new! I do have to fabricate a mounting bracket for it though as that’s missing.

It still looks good to me and all one colour too!! When I repair the bottoms of my doors I’m planning on fitting thin butyl tape between the door skin and frame to hopefully slow it down a bit.

That looks good to me. So did you go for the proper roller and brush method? Have a look on the Paintman website. I’m sure they’ve just started stocking something to restore enamel paint. I am tempted to use their coach enamel anyway.

I’ve done bits and pieces to mine but I really need to sort out all my bodywork before there is more rust and corrosion than metal. The chassis on mine seems to be rather solid so that’s a start. Did you paint yours yourself?

I think I will as it’s got no dents etc. Needs a good clean and paint though. I do however need a new bonnet as mine has a split corner and the frame is rather rusty! It’s already got a new rear door, upgraded doors and 200tdi wings etc. They were all on before I bought it
