225 should not be the issue, as the 17 wheels have that wideness. It's the "height" I am looking for.

Anyway your argument is invalid as making them wider does increase the height as well, as that bit is percentage wise. I am sure you knew that. Perhaps somebody with some sort of experience can confirm or infirm that 225/70/16 would go silky smooth?

It will make them a little bit taller as well as 70% of 225 = 157.5 while 70% of 215 is 150.5 in mm.

Yes but I currently have 215/70/16 and I am even thinking to expand to 225/70/16 if it's not rubbing anything. Seems to be enough room around there... Bit taller tyres always make this car look good. Scrapped 3 freelanders and kept the tyres.

I could not believe it, but it was the tyre making all this noise. Sounded very metallic to be honest. Back to warranty with it, these are BF Goodrich Urban Terrain piece of crap which lasted 2000 miles. Two out of 5 are already kaputt and I just drive to work 6 miles a day with this thing.

You need them just in case one breaks as it's a 3quid item but if you don't have it... sad. No idea to be honest how much it should be, I only used mine to determine which one is the bugger, and it was 4 as it filled up much faster than the others. Then got a recon one and failed in 500 miles...
