range rover p38 1995 air surspension advice needed

And another vote here for Wammers technical guide. If not for this logical testing regime and more than a bit of common sense from the lads on here I'd still be driving on the bump stops!

    What welding kit?

I have used a 'Maypole 120' bought secondhand over 15 years ago. Copes with any 'car gauges' of metal using .8 wire. Changed over to gasless (wire with integral flux) Cheaper to operate and the smaller reels mean that the wire is fresher when not being used frequently. Good advice...

P38A Quit moving! Eas..a problem found (update)

Deja vu Mark! I feel your pain and think back a couple of weeks to my own problem - which does seem to be fixed now, although 'isolation' has barely allowed me mileage in double figures. For me, cleaning the white plugs (hard wired in your case I know) but also putting the OE relay back did...

    Question About Plastic Trim

Don't want to be pedantic but on my car at least, the plastic is not black but dark grey. I removed the grille and had the local paint factor mix me a match sampled from the back of the part. 2 aerosols and a small pot to brush. The stuff used to paint plastic bumpers. Very pleased with...

    Sorry gents... It's EAS again!

White connectors cleaned thoroughly and the relay changed back to OE............. Glitch is cured we no longer have the theatrical curtsey before every mission. No noticeable height loss overnight either, so it looks like the job is done and a victory for LZ yet again! Added bonus was...

    Sorry gents... It's EAS again!

Now's the time for the white plugs, the cover is still off the footwell! First job for the morning, Mark, I've run the aftermarket relay for a couple of yeas now, sensible thought to change back to OE.

    Sorry gents... It's EAS again!

Fair point Datatek, I haven't forgotten your advice. However, now I have a working system I will have a chance to slide underneath and look for leaks. Rears having been replaced 3-4 years ago I'm fully expecting to do the fronts soon. This little 'trick' though is something different. When...

    Sorry gents... It's EAS again!

Thanks for asking, Mark. Yes, progress at last, thanks entirely to LZ guidance. Last Friday I monitored the output from the blue pipe, as suggested. Very poor it was too! Promptly ordered a replacement pump from 'bay and it arrived midday today - Great service that - Pump duly fitted and all...

    Sorry gents... It's EAS again!

Thanks for the sound advice one and all. Right, I'll start with the pump then. Plenty to do... Good start to self isolation! I'll let y'all know what happens, as it happens.

Should have said... P38A. I thought the little ident appeared automatically.

    Sorry gents... It's EAS again!

After fitting new rear bags when I first bought my car over 4 years ago, the EAS has performed more or less perfectly. Then, on the M4 recently there was a beep, beep and the dreaded 'EAS fault, 35MPH restrict.' message. Cutting a long story short:- slow drive home with suspension on 'access'...

    Range rover new years resolutions!

Plan is to keep improving our P38, just about in showable condition. Intercooler flush is on the cards. With Acetone, based on the advice of our gurus here. Sounds a bit drastic but I do have faith.... Honest! The job can wait for better weather though. Headlining kit will go in DIY style and...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Changed one of the oil cooler pipes. Wasn't quite prepared for the amount of oil that comes out but still caught most of it! No longer 'marking her territory' for the first time in a couple of years. Spent a bit of time Waxoyling seams and vulnerable bits as well as cleaning out the leaves...

    South wales

Hi Aaron, If you're still looking for an indy in South Wales I can recommend Pro-Mech in Efail Isaf. At the very least they'll advise you whether the fault warrants tackling the vendor

    P38A Missing horsepower found!!

Intercooler clean-out sounds like a good call. Anything affecting air flow sounds like a logical gain. Reckon it is a bit of a potch though, so It will have to go on my to-do list for better weather. What's the best stuff to clean it with? I'm thinking Traffic Film Remover or paraffin.

    P38A Missing horsepower found!!

Have to admit that I had come to accept the sluggishness of my 2.5 DSE. In all other respects it is the best car I've owned but was continually hunting for a few extra BHP and avidly following any postings about others suffering the same problem. Until today! Thanks to the Landyzone Gurus and...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

It is MOT time again for my P38. The fourth one in my ownership and another pass first time. Good to have a decent mooch underneath on a proper hoist, there are a few areas that would benefit from a clean and Waxoyling before the surface rust gets any worse. Celebrated our 'ticket' by...

    P38A Not another bad starter?

Just an update in appreciation of your help one and all...... The gurus of the Zone win again. Fault was indeed the lift pump and a replacement sourced from ebay. Decided not to tackle the job myself though. I managed to keep it running long enough to reach our good local indy - Collected...

    P38A Not another bad starter?

Wow! Quick replies here! Thanks gents, that all makes sense. I'll check the flow as soon as I get to the car on Monday morning but it sounds like my next project will be dropping that tank. I'm missing the car like a member of the family. Borrowed a MK8 Transit for the weekend but it is not...

    P38A Not another bad starter?

Well into my third year of running a 2.5DSE with 100% reliability record and my first post here is with a problem! About a week ago I noticed that the car was getting harder to start cold or warm. Never mind, a second go at the heaters seemed to fix it. Then there was a loss of power...
