Door hinges paint dried I spent the evening aligning the front doors, driver side went on perfectly but the passenger one was another story… after some gentle bulk head adjustment with a ratchet strap and rear tub lifting with a 4x2 were there !

Replacement pipe ordered today ! 😤

Hinges back from being blasted and galvanized, t washed ready for some etch primer and paint. Decided to drill and install a grease nipple on the inside of the door hinges along with a small groove in the hinge body

Changed the theromstat for one that worked and the guage was still showing off the scale ??? Put a multimeter on the temp sensor and it reading 115ohm which in defender speak should be lava…. Some more googling and yes you guessed it I’ve only gone and frigging fitted a green Discovery temp...

Bonnet on and air feed pipe cleaned

New genuine LR ignition and lock set turned up on Saturday, decided to go for the TD5 version so that the ignition key is the same as all the door barrels. It does mean I’ll have to replace the front door handles as they have deeper locks but they look identical from the outside.

Fan claned and fitted along with the fan shroud. The shroud was cracked along the top but with a helping hand from a friend (Cofi) we managed to repair it with hot staples and a soldering iron.

Intercooler inplace with the rad surrounding that was galvanized and painted black. New mounting rubbers and pipework. Should be in a position to get her running soon….

made a stainless steel bracket to hold the steel Intercooler pipe rather than try to clean and paint the steel one.

Turbo CHAR fitted along with a new actuator and hose. Found it a lot easier to take the manifold off and fit everything on the bench.
