    Blood, sweat & beers ! 1984 Defender 90 restoration

That does not look too bad. Chassis will be fine with a good clean and prime n’ paint. Are you keeping it mechanically original with regards the engine.

    fold down bull bar

Take a look on the stalking directory. Vehicles n’ parts for sale on that too so you might find something that could do your job or something that would give you an idea too.

    fold down bull bar

Some folk think sozzys come from Tesco. Bull bars a good idea. I shoot too and the inside of the motor turns into a hole if you stick your clients in the back…and basil brush whiffs a bit too 👍

    Blood, sweat & beers ! 1984 Defender 90 restoration

Ah you’ll bring that old thing around no bother….lot of satisfaction waiting to happen there…great Land Rover that…I’d do it again too. Here’s a photo of my old 90. It looked beyond redemption before I started it. Folk laughed at me and told me to walk away. Nah, check her out now. Good luck...

300tdi Defender ticking noise (not from engine bay)

Hello. If your getting a ticking noise that you can hear at tick over which speeds up a bit as you rev then a good chance it’s the head gasket. Run your finger around the join to see if you can feel air leaking out. I have just had this problem with mine. 😎

    Rimmer Brothers

Same as the other lads. All fine. Easy to order and they get a shift on getting parts to you. I have had a fair bit from them. Good lads.

    Washer jet

Hello mate. It goes through into the bulkhead and is fixed in place by a nut on the screwed rod that is hollow that also takes the water up through it. If you’re needing to replace it it’s a dash strip to get to it. Bit of a devil but easy to change once exposed.

Getting Gwen the Mini to Run.

Anything with a female name comes with trouble! Sounds to me like your choke needs setting up...maybe even a carb rebuild, my old man used to keep buying these brutes and it was always trouble round the carb area. You could try checking on the make of the carb and find out settings etc, be a...

    Defender chassis

Here you are. Got them from gwyn Lewis 4x4. £30 ish quid a set. Well worth it. Stopping a lot of muck getting chucked onto the chassis parts. Easy to fit onto existing mounts, front ones a bit tight to get in but no real bother really. Comes with stainless steel fittings to fit them. Good value...

    Defender chassis

😂very good…I used the t wash to start with then rubbed it down with wire wool then hammerite special metal primer and then chassis black. Couple of coats and some extra areas painted a third time. Put a bit of raptor on too near high impact areas. To help protect the chassis I also fitted those...

    Defender chassis

Hello pal. I did yes. I rubbed every panel down by hand to as smooth as I could. I then used coachwork enamel primer and top coat. 2 coats of primer rubbed down between each one and then the top coat in bronze green. Two coats too. Done with a roller! Got my paint from paint man and all the...

Defender wing panel next to radiator

Try paint man panels. Call them if it’s not listed. I’ve had a few bits from them. Good bunch to deal with. I did my old 90 up and needed that panel too but I ended up buying a whole wing assembly. Bits were hard to find. I’ve replaced that before on a wing but you have to drill out a ton of...
