    Disco 2 Tailgate speakers

Beware aftermarket speakers are often not as sensitive as the LR OE originals - even if they have matching impedance - so aftermarket sound quieter than the rest of the OE system. Those suggested by Sierrafery don't look bad at 91dB/W / might work OK. I think I remember seeing some info on...

    ACE System removal effect

Meego, with ACE anti-roll bars & actuators still in place, your car's "Anti-Roll" characteristic while cornering will be the same as ACE - until high cornering forces when ACE would begin to soften. It's absolutely nothing like a car with ACE fully removed or replaced by Non ACE ARBs.

    Engine Mount - Discovery 2

The "g' indicates a Genuine Land Rover part in a land rover box - NOt an aftermarket part. It's usual to replace both as they will both be worn out. The only parts worth fitting are Genuine as many, many people have had negative experience with aftermarket suppliers of these engine mounts. Your...

    Bleeding brakes

Mastercylinder pressure seals are probably worn / being by-passed when you apply pedal slowly & seal OK when you jump on the pedal quick. Like the old bicycle pumps that had leather seals and would only work well when operated quickly. PS You'd need a lot of air in the system (ie a complete...

That could be really useful in future. Thanks for compiling

Jacking the car to bleed brakes

Do you even need to lift the car ? On my L322 RR I just raised the suspension to Off-Road height & could get to each bleedscrew with the wheels left in place while lying on the floor. (NB using an axle stand as a safety "stop" each time I went underneath at each corner - just in case of air...

Disco 2 2004 Discovery II - Drip rail/rain gutter finisher removal question.

The side pieces are only there as a styling feature & to hide the variable quality finish of painting / welding. They might have a minor impact on how rain drips off the edge of the gutter.

    Disco 2 Discovery 2 10P TD5 - Manual

All, apologies, my post was the 1st response & the one with loads of dead lines in it. Something seemed to go wrong with the forum on my Android phone & it just threw me out & wouldn't allow me to edit it on the phone. I've only just managed to edit the post on my laptop. Very weird ! Ref the...

    Disco 2 Discovery 2 10P TD5 - Manual

Have you tried different positions of the different lock (cdl) and low range lever ? Mine jumped out of high range once and left me in transfer box neutral once before I worked out what had happened. Earlier I had using Low range & it obviously wasn't fully engaged when I went back into High...

Disco 2 Rear bumper light - metal spring clip

If you contact 1 of the Disco 2 specific breakers like "Discovery 2 Parts" aka Heathy, they might have a broken light they can't sell - but which has a clip they're willing to separate for a small fee. As said, the alternative is a bit of DIY.

Decent Disco breakers for trim and rear light

"Discovery 2 Parts" are very good. I've used him a few times now. Always good condition parts at reasonable prices and well packed to survive delivery.

    Disco 2 Servo problem

Just to reinforce some of the earlier comments a brake pedal sinking to the floor CAN NOT be caused by the servo ! I used to be involved in the design & development of servos & master cylinders at Girling, so here's a bit more background detail for anyone interested : The master cylinder...

    Disco 2 Brake bleeding woes

I'm amazed LR even do seal kits for mastercylinder internals. I used to work for the mastercylinder manufacturer Lucas Girling & for many years LR would never accept the safety issues relating mastercylinder seals being changed by owners / mechanics. I'd go for good second hand unit from a...

    Disco 2 Brake bleeding woes

Do you get a normal hard short pedal if you apply the brake pedal hard and fast ? If yes and the pedal is soft and long when applying slowly, it sounds like your new mastercylinder is either faulty or now has dirt / debris sitting on 1 of the high pressure seals. Did you fit a new fluid...

    Disco 2 Air con whining

Don't go mad releasing pressure just yet. I think the pressure goes up a lot with increased ambient temperature ! I'm not sure what it is where you are, but I saw 34C on the car display much earlier this morning - alot higher than the probable 24~25C when I measure the pressure last week.

    Disco 2 Air con whining

I accept Fery's comment about excessively low pressure, but on another Denso compressor based vehicle I have, the compressor makes a slight whining noise at engine idle when the gas pressure is reduced, but not enough to cause it not to work. The whine isn't noticable due to road & engine noise...

    Disco 2 Bonnet Gas Struts

I've not added them, but I think there was someone on the D2boysclub forum who had and had posted details. Maybe a Google search will find details.
