    key Fob/Central locking

Maybe the early BECM are different to mine ? He has a 1995, but I tested it on my 1998. Another possibility is the GEMS ECU could have the security disabled ? (There is an LR bulletin on how to do it)

    P38A Soundproofing bonnet with asbestos?

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/296826455790 in UK https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/235504467208 in Germany I doubt either would be selling if it contained asbestos ?

    P38A P38 2.5DSE 1999 Electrical niggles

I had the seat fuse issue on my passenger seat. It would randomly blow the fuse even with nobody sitting on it. Disconnected the lumbar pump wiring, and now everything else works without blowing the fuse.

    key Fob/Central locking

Couple of corrections. 1) Kieth is correct about the EKA, but (sorry Keith), only for the diesel. On GEMS disabling the EKA just prevents you from entering it, but does not stop it being required if only using the key. Yes I've tried it on mine to be sure !! (re-enabled it afterwards) 2)...

    P38 heater o-rings: draining tips?

The gap between the metal pipes & matrix is definitely at an angle in that picture. Does look mis-aligned to me ?

    P38 heater o-rings: draining tips?

You will also need a pair of reducers to go between the matrix hoses & the engine hoses. Can't remember the size, but there's threads on here with the correct size. Nissens 70220 has 17mm fittings. I think the engine bay needs 19mm ?

    P38 heater o-rings: draining tips?

That's what I have in one of mine. Originally did it because the LR matrix had broken plastic flange & the aluminium pipe ends were also bent by the PO.

    Water pump turn off

Stored (but fixed) faults are good when buying any car - especially if the salesman doesn't know the difference !!

P38A Battery - Bubbling and leaking

+1 on just unplug the bonnet switch. Also with driver's door open close the latch with a screw driver, so the BECM thinks the door is closed & you still have access to the BECM fuses for the tests.

P38A Battery - Bubbling and leaking

Go through the battery drain checks in the BECM System Info doc. I'm sure I posted it on here a while back, but here's the section again just in case.

Buying a Freelander 1 with propshaft removed

Definitely look around for a complete one. There are currently nine 2004 FL1 on autotrader. First easy check is the MOT history.

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Our Amazon deliveries usually say "handed to resident", but in reality just left on the doorstep. I often put that in the feedback with a photo, as that's the one thing Amazon actually checks before they allow the comments to be visible !!

    Freelander 1 Freelander EV

Or just have a timer on the charge outlet at home so there's no power until 2am ? Add an override so you can still charge at other times if required. The car then cannot charge until 2am.

P38A What are the best alloys?

My answer to the original question is, whatever you like best, cos I don't care. These are mine (don't have better pics):

    New l405 headlights

And therein lies the problem. With so many brighter headlights all our eyes automatically reduce sensitivity, hence pushing so many toward brighter lights !! It's a viscious circle. If all headlights were under a sensible maximum, them all of us would see better as our eyes acclimatise...

Could you use a clutch switch to disable regen when changing gear ? There must be a mount for one to allow for peeps that added cruise when purchasing new ?

What did you do with your Range Rover today

I'm guessing the 2.5 DT uses metric bolts. Doubt ARP do studs for them, but you never know ? Best to get a new set of stretch bolts.
