    TD5 Land Mark Disco 2

So…being Defender and Series person I’m looking at selling one to get a Disco. I’ve seen one for £2400 with 177k on the clock. These engines are a unknown to me and it’s got part history - potential buyer but are the TD5 ok for miles? thanks

Can’t think of another word for it so ‘shuddering’

Sounds to me like the handbrake - I had the same and only happened once warm. Adjust the handbrake and see if it happens again

    Series 2a wheel swap

Go for it and sell yer old ones. I did the same and got rid of tubed tyres replacing with modern tubeless. Just double check they are tubeless.

    Clutch pedal sticking down!

I think you've adjusted it wrong at the clutch master cylinder. Spring shouldn't go to far past spring return point. I had to faff about with the clutch cylinder rod. Rich

Morning All, Quick question if i may - Would a 300TDI radiator fit into a 200TDI incl oil cooler hoses? Would i also need to get the 300TDI Oil filter housing and would this bolt straight onto my 200TDI block? Thank you all knowledgeable people Rich

    Metal chunks in sump

I also had a piece of metal in my sump (200TDI). It was the same as one of your pieces in the photo. Was informed that is was potentially from the timing chest where someone had put the bolts in and they were too long. Rich

[noob question] is this a 200tdi?

Cam belts the same, but always good to check engine code. As for hoses look at Paddocks, John Craddock's etc but be aware that some may have been changed/modified to fit the 300. Rich

[noob question] is this a 200tdi?

Its a G Reg so would have been fitted with a 19J originally. Looks retro fitted with the 300TDI with LT77 gearbox. Rich

    Defender wiring mess

I had the similar problem, 200TDI into my old 19J. I decided to renew the fuse box first replacing the glass fuses with blade type found here https://www.autoelectricsupplies.co.uk/mobile/product/311/category/63. After replacing some wiring in and around the fuse box I carried on into the engine...
