Has anybody fitted a south down snorkel

If you don't have the plastic arch liner its not too bad but you might find it easier to take the wing off once you have fitted the mounting

Has anybody fitted a south down snorkel

When I fitted mine I left the wing on initially to mark up the position of the hole. Used a hole saw to cut a circle out then elongated slightly with a file. A bead of tiger seal on the wing mount and then I added 4 large pot rivets for extra security while the tiger seal set As you can see...

    Aux fuel burning fault

Most likely reason will be that the fuel burning heater has gone into lock out mode. Three failed starts without a successful one will cause it to lock out. Failed starts are caused by low battery, low fuel or component issue although in reality there is not much too them so not that common to...

    in car pc

Not got one myself yet but am very tempted by the Samsung 840. THESE get very good reviews. Not sure what you are looking to fit it in but expect much faster boot up times and obviously no moving parts to worry about! If ya going in a mini itx then should be no issue and kinder to the power...

Discovery Rust - Boot, Sills and Wings

Using an old race with a slot cut out of it works really well. There are a couple in my tool chest for exactly this purpose. Your garage looks just like mine does !!

Electrical problem! Somebody on here must know!

Are the fusible links corroding away? Not sure if yours is a 200 or 300, but if its a 200 check the loom on drivers side inner wing towards the bulkhead. The links are wrapped in the loom and they corrode into blue dust! Have replaced mine with a second fuse box mounted to the inner wing just...

    Disco rebuild project

Thanks for the kind words Joel, when I first started the rebuild I had owned the Disco for several years and although I had done just about all the mechanical type jobs including a top end rebuild of the V8 I had never welded before... A combination of reading the posts on here along with...

    Disco rebuild project

Thanks for the tips, I was paranoid about the structure moving when I had the sill out but the is door is back on and fits fine. I have a bit of 20x20 box section now that I will tack across the rear door opening to stop anything shifting when I do the rear crossmember. I had looked at the...

    Body mounts

Do you mean the body mount at the front of the foot well visible from the engine bay at the bottom of the bulkhead or the one just in front of the seat (front of sill). Both are available from YRM as replacements but if it is the sill one I would expect that you will need more than just the...

    Disco rebuild project

Cheers fella that is high praise indeed considering your thread was one of the ones that inspired me to have a go. I decided that removing the 1/4 panels was the only realistic way I had of doing it properly but as I am working outside it does mean I spend the start and end of each session...

    Disco rebuild project

With the threat of snow this weekend I was looking for something I could do inside the garage to try and stay warm. I had discovered that a couple of the pistons had seized on the brakes so ordered up all the parts a while ago and decided today it was time to strip the caliper’s down and...

    Disco rebuild project

Not posted any updates for ages sorry…. Have been doing bits each weekend when I have time but the weather over the winter means it has taken ages to make progress, also had to take a break for a few weeks after damaging my eye by getting grinding sharps imbedded in my pupil. Have now replaced...
