Aftermarket cats are notorious for not lasting long so if you can change them it will probably sort it. Your gunson tester probably won't be sensitive enough. Mick

Hi yes that is on the high side dependant on year if it's precat the emissions for MOT is 3.5% CO. If it's after 93 it will have a cat and lambda sensor and the emissions will be well down 0. Something CO. Mick

As far as I am aware the only tune resistor for the hotwire is to tell the ECU that it has Lambda sensors or not please correct me if I'm wrong. Mick
