i dont mean to sound like a complete tool but can you make a series 2 as good as a defender 90 ? eg put a 200tdi engine in, mcpherson struts all-round? if so how much would it cost to get the bits and do it yourself?? this may also sound daft but could you put a series 2 body on a different...

well im looking to buy a bit of a wreck to fettle up into a bit of a weekend toy as i cant afford one as a daily drive at the mo, and i can get the bits for it month by month after i have paid my bills etc!...im not dead set on a series...i just liked the look/style of the vehicle :)

if you come over this way i would recomend grizedale forrest and the area's arround..there is always lots of people bodding along the lanes around there (no good if you have a springer with no brains that doesnt get put off by loud engines:D!) i dont know the routes, just walked around there...
