Hi Does any body know if it's possible to do most gearbox repairs in situ? I need to do the input and output bearings and sort the gear selection out at least. I know the engine, floorpans and seatbox will need to come out but any other tips? Thanks, Mike

I looked into it recently. You can get them rechromed and polished for about £70 the pair. Problem is you then would need to get the holes for the bearings and railko machined out. Best to look for some decent second hand ones, not sure about the quality of aftermarket ones though

Polybushes are easier to fit than standard. I have found though that the eye for the bush on my parabolics (rocky mountain) is a different size to standard, so watch out for that.

never heard of any self adjusting shoes for a land rover. There are a few different disc brake kits around but you need to be rich. A servo assisted master cylinder will improve things if you havn't got one already.
