    Good alarm fitted in Warwickshire

For features like auto windows and remote start is possibly a useful thing to have. Insurance companies will not recognise it as a anti-theft device unless it's installed by an approved installer. These approved installers are at best lacking, believe me I've seen the work from a lot of these...

    Good alarm fitted in Warwickshire

Rather than let some monkey chop about your Landrover wiring, how about some mechanical locking deterrents. This keeps things standard and reliable, and is far more of a visible deterrent than an alarm.

    Dom's 109" (re)build

Can I see a VW Corrado in the background? I used to have one of them back in the day, amazing car, mine was a G60. Great project thread by the way.

Time to overhaul the old girl.

A few more pictures. Body filler sanded back to the bare minimum, and new closed end blind rivets put in. Series 3 front panel preperation with nice TIG welded Aluminium radiator. This was intended for a 200TDi Discovery but looks a good fit for the 3.9L V8 Series 3. I may even make use of...

Time to overhaul the old girl.

It's going back to original Marine Blue and Ivory. A second ratchet strap was added to ensure the tent does not blow away. With 2 tonne of Landy attached to it, if it does blow away there will be a lot of other people in worse situations. :-)

    Back Pressure advice Please

If it's a turbo diesel there's a one way valve to stop that anyway, I was referring to just the pipe to ensure it's not blocked.

    Back Pressure advice Please

Before you take it all apart though, just try blowing down the pipe to see if it's free flowing or not.

    Optimistic pricing I think

That's some series 3, I'm going to have to admit I like the front bumper as a sort of American truck look. So it seems he hand built the body panels out of 3mm aluminium plate  I can imagine it easily coast the asking price, and it is very tidy that's for sure, however not being...

Time to overhaul the old girl.

The time had come to do something about the external look of the Landy, the light blue was coming off every time I washed it and never really was put on all that well in the first place. This had at minimum 5 different shades of blue each with a layer of primer as well. The easy answer to...

    Good alarm fitted in Warwickshire

I've yet to find a company in this country capable of fitting an after market alarm/immobiliser to any acceptable standard. This includes the Thatcham approved company's. After market immobilisers fitted by approved company's are the most amusing, which any monkey could bypass given 5 minutes...

    Anyone seen these fixings before

I would say they are home made as they do not appear in the parts and accessories catalogues I have here.

urgent advice please - wife just had a crash

Sounds like the insurance company have got them selves confused, if it's written off you should have two options offered by the insurance company here. 1. As above, total loss, insurance company pays you £1900 and takes the vehicle away. 2. A buy back option where the insurance company offers...

My £100 Series 2a slow build project

I couldn't work out why the custom gearbox mount to start with, but then I seen that someone has put the springs on top the axles rather than under, that would also explain the modified front spring hangers. That must be one high beast, are you going to put it back to standard?

What tools do you never leave without on an outing with your series??

AA card and the tool behind the steering wheel. :) Under the passenger seat you'll find mole grips, hammer, adjustable spanners, and screwdrivers. In the back 5L of water and some part used container of engine oil.

    Engines and gearboxes???

At the other end of the spectrum, my 88" S3 runs a 3.9 serpentine EFI V8 on LPG with standard late S3 box, Fairey Overdrive, and Range Rover diffs. I use it for towing large stationary engines and vintage tractors about the place, usual load on tow is around 2 tonne. The old S3 will happily...

    Ashcroft 5 speed conversion

Hi Mick, thanks for the clarification, do you mind if I ask another question? I'm trying to think how to best word this, but what's the distance (forwards or backwards) from the point where the bell housing joins the LT77 gearbox to the rear of the under bell housing chassis cross member? In...

    Ashcroft 5 speed conversion

In your pictures have you moved the engine forwards at all? It looks like your transfer box is in exactly the original series position.

    Ashcroft 5 speed conversion

I forgot to add that to my list, I don't think it would actually touch but it's too close for comfort.
