OEM switches with Rimmer seat heating kit

Hello again, I know there’s a lot of info available generally but specifically would like to know if I can use OEM dash switches with Rimmer seat heating kit (ie can I cut off the aftermarket switches?). I know the OEM switches aren’t dual stage, so how would the wiring work. Many thanks.

    Engine whine

Thanks for the encouragement Anaconda. I have plenty of tools and am OK with a spanner, better with electrics and trim and all the non important stuff! I've owned classic cars in the past and have imperial as well as metric tools (some of my previous cars built in the mid 70's e.g Triumph TR6...

Hello, Apparently they are KN Predators 8x17" (thanks @rosco). Sadly no longer made / exist and nothing seemingly on EBay either. Will post in the wanted section, you never know??

Any alloy wheel identifying specialists out there please?

Hello. Can anyone identify these alloys please? My spare is a hardtop standard steel, the 4 on the defender are these and I'd like the full set but I can't find out what they are - I have trawled google and they are similar to Zu's etc that Paddock and John Craddock sell, but they aren't the...

    Engine whine

I agree that the MOT shouldn't be used as a maintenance guide. As a novive, it will take time to confidently perform my own regular checks and investigations. Regarding your tensioner and idler pulley, did yours sound really loud? Mine is a mechanical whine, rather than a whoosh, whistle or hiss...

Thank you, I'll have a look, never removed any form of belt really - i think i need to lever off the tensioner to slacken the belt before it can be removed?

    Engine whine

Hello, two posts in one if that’s ok. Can’t find answers already posted, so apologies. High pitched / unbearable whine / whir from engine. Directly relates to rpm, whether stationary or driving. Plenty of power, noise at anything other than tickover. I have a video / audio but not sure if I can...

Add heated rear window and rear wash/wipe

I can confirm that no loom for rear wash / wipe exists 🥹 it was almost bone dry on the drive home so didn’t test the theory of not needing it. I’m sure it won’t be long before I get another chance 🤣

Add heated rear window and rear wash/wipe

@drfoster - that's another interesting take on things, doubles up as dash cam for insurance etc. I see there are 4k resolution ones from wolfbox - probably others too. Thanks for posting.

Add heated rear window and rear wash/wipe

Thanks Dag019, very interesting comments and could save me time and bother. This is my first Defender and forecast tomorrow was / is rain so i'll have a good 2-3 hrs on the M5 to test it out. Thanks for the reply :)

Add heated rear window and rear wash/wipe

Hello all. Having trawled through Google and searching here, I’m still not sure if it’s possible / relatively easy to add a heated rear window and add a rear wiper and wash. I’ve just bought. TD5 90 2004 (collect Saturday coming) and it’s currently not fitted with the above. I found a previous...

    Big Question

Many thanks for the reply, i did check the MOT history, it's good to match up the mileage / dates etc, but unfortunately the car sold before I could get to it. I'm definitely leaning towards condition / servicing over mileage, so thanks to you and all the people that had / have encouraging...
