The ferry I'm on doesn't get into Santandar until 5pm on the Sat, so were going to stay in a hotel Sat night and then travel down to the campsite on the Sunday. Personally I would have chosen to drive through the night and get to the site stupid early on the Sunday, but the wife really does not...

    Waxoyl

Took me 3 days to clear the dust/ sand and pebbles from inside the chassis and to then Tetraseal it using a big compressor and Shultz gun and lance, ruined my workshop floor, had to burn my clothes, had a petrol shower just to get that black ****e off me. The actual result is excellent though...

The maps listed below, are Olaf and some French version that I found randomly searching the net for free Garmin maps of Morocco, the routable one is quite good, the rest are really just overlays showing different terrain features which can be overlayed on to other maps, I haven't played with it...

    RUSTOLEUM

My chassis was painted with Rustoleum which I sprayed on the entire underside body and chassis with the compressor, I gave it a coat a week for 3 months to build it up with light coats, then spent two days with brake cleaner and an airline blow gun getting the Sahara dust and small pebbles out...

    Removing TD5 intercooler

I used a stud extractor to remove the 4 studs, then when I was putting it back together I simply used bolts and chucked the stupid studs, why the retards at Land Rover did not use bolts I don't understand.

    First Expedition Plan's and Prep

There are still some decent Discovery 1's fairly rust free kicking about, with modifications for about £1500-2200, but expect to have to go through it, swivel seals, bearings, gaskets etc, and that will swallow £600 real quick. I think what will bugger up getting to Iceland is the ferry from...

    110 TD5 Double Cab

So, I modified the tail gate using a Discovery wheel carrier, 3 strips of 5mm steel by 600mm long to brace the inside of the tailgate, so I no longer have to carry a spare up on the roof to Morocco any more. Thus making the roof rack pretty much no more than a mount for the light bar and CB, so...

how fast do these go ?

Coming back from Lincs on Saturday, I pulled just over an indicated 100 mph on the flat in my 110, doesn't drive any worse at that speed than at 60. Was a arrow straight road though and I gave up because I can imagine all those internal components wizzing about The passenger who was in his...

I lost my insect repellent early on in the trip, luckily there was only a couple of places we stopped at where buzzy biters were an issue, naturally the repellent reappeared in the truck once I was home, same with my torches, MP3 cable etc etc.

That' motorway running south is nice and easy, just a few hours of dodging concealed police and random people picking weeds in the central reservation . The wife is not like me and likes to book things way ahead of time, if she books the flight now it's only £40..

My tensioners, belt, pulley, crank seal, and water pump arrived today, hmmm not really looking forward to that one. Water pump looks a bit fiddly to get to, oh well. I think the foam incident went unnoticed
