What have you got left to do on your 90?

300tdi or TD5? D2 sold and I'm in the market for a Defender

Td5 sounds good and is not very complex at all, and is pretty easy to work on, plus it has two oil filters, can't beat two oil filters eh? 2.4 and 2.2 tdci ford engines are a little more complex than the Td5 and like the Td5 you can get the odd one that is nothing but trouble, previous servicing...

    Front air vents

Better off replacing with series rubber seals in all honesty, rubber actually fills the gap around the flaps and looks better, I did it on my last Defender just can't remember what glue I used. Rubber ones last longer than the foam ones too.

Nice old Thwaites dumper, handy dandy tools they are, was bored today so I changed my power steering fluid seeing as it got so hot last Easter and spewed out of the vent. Your white 110 ready to go Ken?

    Will a Td5 diff fit in a 200tdi disco

I like the word flange, and I intend on using it more in 2016

    Freelannder

Dunno, maybe a G Wagon diff might fit, if not certainly a rear diff from a 1970 Triumph Herald will fit for sure. Hope that helps you out.

Started to replace all the serpentine belt tensioners, dampened crank pulley, thermostat, oil seal and belt today, should be finished tomorrow, and then a couple of panhard rod bushes to change, check the wheel bearings and I'm done. Well, just leaving me some time to design and make better...

I have my old genuine silver grill, as seen in my pics you can have Mike, it's even still got the LR badge attached, all you would need to do is either buy some Brunai silver surrounds or spray your old ones.

    Disappointing power at low revs

Get shot of the EGR, cat and that ridiculously huge centre box, low down power will be better. Get it mapped too, transforms the Td5 in to something actually usable.

    not land rover

45 mins of idling will have done no harm to the oil, unless his water pump is no good in which case it would have overheated. I leave my Passat idling for hours when I'm on the phone ect.

cheap things ..no good..good things..no cheap

I remeber replacement genuine seat covers from Marshall Land Rover in Cambridge being £15 in 2003. Bought a double cab hood in the summer from them and it was £1100 inc vat. These are not special vehicles, or rare, main dealer prices are nuts, especially when the vehicles are inherently crap...

    Hankook Car Battery

Factory fitted battery, mine is 10 years old and still holds up as new, don't know why though, it's a big lump, I suspect it would not last that long if I had to turn the engine over and over for extended periods.

cheap things ..no good..good things..no cheap

Some components are not worth buying as non genuine or OEM, it's not worth fitting pattern vital parts and then have to start worry about them failing and taking another vital component out with them. Plus I only want to fit one damper crank pulley or water pump once for example. Couple of...

    Coolant drop after rebuild

Td5 needs regular coolant changes with OAT, otherwise the core plugs can corrode, especially the one at the back.
