    Torque converter lock up

All seems well. It's just that the change from 3-4 and lock up is extremely smooth! Feel a bit of a plinker but had expected it to be that good! Fluid is a light red-brown but fairly translucent with no smell. Will replace soon though. Panic over!

    Torque converter lock up

4 speed? Is the torque lock the 4th? Mine definitely has just 3 shifts. I have noticed the lock kicking in, just much more subtle than I'm used to.

    Torque converter lock up

Hi all, I'm not entirely sure that my torque converter is locking up as it should. In the past with other autos, there was a noticeable drop in revs as this happened but I don't appear to get anything in my 92 RRC. Has anyone experience of this?

    Oil type

Hi all, Am I correct in thinking that my 92 RRC takes Dexron 2/3 in the transfer box as well as the gearbox? Found that a little odd!

    1992 RRC 3.9 V8 running problems

So, turns out it's the throttle potentiometer. I've unplugged it and it's running spot on. Not sure what happens if I leave it unplugged. The replacements are damn expensive though and currently, can only find Britpart replacements...

    Series 3 nil clutchus habemus

Despite having been stung by Bearmach parts, I did replace a full set of brake pipes from them and they have actually been very good. They have some sort of coating that seems to slow corrosion.

    1992 RRC 3.9 V8 running problems

Thanks for the tips. Where in the world are you? I've changed the MAF back to its previous setting as the base setting made it run worse...

    Series 3 nil clutchus habemus

Looks good, nice clean up, too. I've owned 6 series landies and had to do this job on all of them. Hope you avoided the blue box

    1992 RRC 3.9 V8 running problems

So, did some testing today and got some queer results from the throttle pot. After that, I simply unplugged it. Surprisingly, it runs like a dream. Why would this happen and why would I replace it?

    1992 RRC 3.9 V8 running problems

I think you're right. Always had joy with Bearmach but crappy and incorrect destructions on one part, followed by the failure of another has left me thinking otherwise!!

    1992 RRC 3.9 V8 running problems

Rubbish that new parts do that. I wrote to Bearmach with an invoice for a repair

    1992 RRC 3.9 V8 running problems

Just adjusted the MAF as advised. Was reading 150 so turned clockwise to read 300. If anything, it's made general running less smooth and the issue is still there. I should also say that it can be lumpy when cold. There is a golden period of about 2 minutes when it runs perfectly!

    1992 RRC 3.9 V8 running problems

This is really useful however, I am totally useless with this sort of stuff so may need a bit more help - some of what you said sounds like wizardry to me!

    1992 RRC 3.9 V8 running problems

Hi all - new here. Have always been a member of another forum as a Series owner but since buying my RRC, haven't had much luck in their section! After many years of resisting the urge, I finally gave in and bought an RRC that's had a significant amount of the nasty jobs done, mainly involving...
