    Range Rover Classic won't start

Hang on. Let's get back to basics. You need to eliminate the easy things. Is the engine turning over? Do you have spark? Do you have fuel? These are essential so don't bother doing anything else until all the answers are YES. If any answers are NO, then we can help.

Issues replacing the tailgate rubber seal on a RRC

Perhaps consider alternative sources for the seal? Get a robust but soft rubber. I had the same issue with series doors. Off the shelf parts can be poor.

3.5 v8i bad misfire and starting issues

Check for correct firing order and set timing. Important start to rule bigger problems out. Have you checked the condition of spark? They need a big, fat blue spark to run...

    L322 Oil in coolant LR322, 3.6V8TD

You can purchase inexpensive CO2 testing kits which you could also try to rule out HG.

    L322 Oil in coolant LR322, 3.6V8TD

You may need to do a compression test to fully disregard head gasket issues, unless other diagnosis finds the problem first. It's not unusual for a failing head gasket to let water out and not coolant in. As the engine warms, things expand and as another member suggests, engine pressure is...

    Spark, fuel, no start

I'm normally good at spotting things like this but it was surprising how quick it was affected. My old series would warn you for ages before it actually refused to go. In fact, I don't think it ever actually refused to!!

    Spark, fuel, no start

And it's back to life! Coil, cap, leads and rotor. Did it all together which was a cardinal sin in identifying the problem but it cracked straight up.

    P38A help needed in portsmouth

I agree, if you can't get the emissions down, you may as well not bother with the rest. Sort that first. Is it using oil?

    Spark, fuel, no start

It got steadily worse over about a fortnight either coincidentally as it got colder or because it got colder. I'm thinking the latter at this stage. I've very recently had my stepper motor off and was clean then but will check again. However, the stepper motor deals with cold idle. When I was...

    Spark, fuel, no start

Thanks for the advice. Bought a Valeo coil and will get Lucas other bits. I'm going to the parents at the weekend and they live near Paddock spares so will get some stuff then. Was hoping to go in the RRC but suppose I'll have to go in the sensible and economical Golf...

    Spark, fuel, no start

That's what I thought. Replaced the ignition amp very recently so would be annoyed if it's that!! You can't test them either? Annoyingly, no decent parts suppliers near me in Chelmsford so am forever waiting for post...

    Spark, fuel, no start

Hi all, My RRC 3.9 efi has been reluctant to start as the weather has got colder. Yesterday, refused to start all together. I have spark and fuel so am a bit lost. The rotor cap was looking a bit cruddy so haven't ruled that out but have cleaned in the meantime but as I say, I am getting spark...

    Strange

So, started my RRC 3.9v8 yesterday for about 10 seconds to move it. Started and ran as usual, turned off. Went to it today, no start. Getting fuel and it did make a small pop or two to start but not enough to crack up. Turning over healthily. Could it be flooded from yesterday? I will start...

    1992 RRC 3.9 V8 running problems

So, new throttle pot fitted and following a 100 mile drive, all seems good (touch wood). The Britpart kit is actually surprisingly good quality. The actual throttle pot is a Colvern type, not produced by them but the adaptor is theirs. Some excellent machining, great stainless fittings and...
