Quick update: I've got the STTs on and I'm pretty please so far, I've not had any off road experience with them yet but you can just tell looking at them compared to my part worn ATs that they are going to be more capable, Road manners wise they seem about as good as my ATs and quiet too but...

I've got some lovely new rocksliders but I'm worried my passengers will look at them as sidesteps and do themselves a mischief, particularly if it's wet/raining. What can I apply to the top of them to make them grippy?

Aaaah your ****ed now then, that's how it starts, I came on here 7 or so years ago and I'm still stuck here, still it beats facebook :D

I removed mine, pulled off the cloth material, wire brushed it and then painted it with a ceiling paint (its flexible) It looks 100% better and very practical. Also stuck 10mm foam underlay to the roof whilst it was off (got it for free as I fit floors) and now its much warmer on cold days...

Sorry mate meant to put wheel spacers in the OP, I've edited it now. My mechanic mate who advised me to put the cooper stt 255 70 16s on has them fitted to his, he has a +2" lift (but mine looks higher?) but his rub slightly on the radius arms on full lock, he's thinking of fitting wheel...

Hi, not too sure of the width of the alloy, a look on google didn't bring anything up, I can roughly measure it up when the Mrs brings it back or perhaps someone on here will possess the knowledge? Its a manual box, budget is a factor and varies with my job so it will pretty much come down...

Hehe yeah its not a good look and something I'm desperate to rectify. Re arches: I have the factory XS arches fitted so that gives me an extra inch or so but TBH if they stick out a little I'm not that fussed, MOT testers and plod aren't terribly troublesome as long as I'm not taking the ****.
