Hence why you said on this thread to not open up multiple threads :)

    steering problem

If you've lost self-centering after tightening the steering box then you might have knackered it by over tightening! I did the same once!

Discovery Rust - Boot, Sills and Wings

what's crap about it? you might find that it can be resolved! It won't be powerful enough for chassis welding, but it could be Ok for the thinner stuff :) Is it gas or no-gas, or both?

Disco 300TDI Auto - Wanted - Genuine or Fitted Rubber Floor Mats

As subject really :) Decided that the carpets aren't welcome any more after seeing what they were hiding, so they're going, and I just want to have rubber mats. I'm in Blakeney, in the Forest of Dean. Cheers!

converting windy windows to electric ones it can be done discovery 1

In my opinion they're a common problem! Dodgy switches, dodgy solder on the ecu's and dodgy winder mechanisms. I may not have 25 years but i've got a 3 door where they don't work at all and my 300tdi auto where the winder mechanism sounds like a machine gun when it gets to the top and doesn't...

Honestly, they're so unreliable I'd rather go manual from electric ;)

NOW SOLD - CHEERS! Hi there, It's been a while since I used my rifle so I'm putting it up for sale. First, let me state that it's an anti-tamper S400, and _someone_ idiotically attempted to half drill out the anti-tamper bolts (in their youth), which I've tried to show clearly in the photos...

    300TDI Rubber Floor Mats

Hi there, I've removed the carpets in my 300TDI auto after they got wet, and the sound-proofing just didn't want to let that water go! It looks like I got them out just in time, as I've just got a little bit of surface rot to content with, and a little bit of proper rot in the drivers footwell...

Finally nearly finished, but one last question

I think a photo would help here :)
  13. tombardier

    what noise would....

UJ's have always sounded like chattering chirping noises to me. Please tell me you've lifted all the wheels and spun them and pulled them around etc? :)

    lights going off :(

... For when the rozzers decide they're going to stop you ! Seriously Vaseline would prevent the problem but WD 40 might help drive moisture out of your connections. :)

    Engine Service Parts

Have you gota good reason to replace the glow-plugs? Seems like a waste of money to me! They aren't a general service item are they?

discovery 300 tdi auto slow turning over to fire up??

The op states that it starts OK when jumping from another vehicle, with another earth presumably, so check the earth from battery to gearbox has a good connection if the battery itself is good. Just unbolt it and give it a good clean. Can see that someone has done lots of expensive stuff...

Discovery Rust - Boot, Sills and Wings

Changed my diff oil today after doing some dep wading the other day. The disco did the job when I needed it too, but the oil I dropped today had the same muddy 'orrible look as yours did! I'll give it another change in a week or two :) the carpets got wet too and whilst removing them to dry...

Why did you buy a disco!!

Went laning with 4 90's including my own + a 300tdi disco earlier in the year. The only thing the disco didn't handle as well as my completely standard 90 was the axle articulation. The rear springs kept on popping out of the hangars, and the anti-roll bar bracket snapped on the back axle...
