Finally got back round to trying to get the remote central locking kit to my 200tdi. Followed advice from forum a while ago about connecting to the pink and orange wires, but the motors just make a small blip noise one way then blow fuse the other! As I’m a bit fed up of the crappy motors...

Little bits getting done now, fixed bonnet release which hadn’t worked since last year and painted grille and headlamp surrounds. Makes front end a lot better.

MOT passed! All advisories cleared too apart from the underseal. Even polished it... Now I just need everything to return to “normal” so I can drive it properly!

New boots- 235/70r16s all round, which fill arches much better. Going back for retest Monday...

New exhaust on, nice and shiny! While I was under there I slapped a load of under seal on the chassis and floor- only intended to do a bit but ended up using the whole tin!

New track rod fitted, new ball joints on drop link done too. The torque setting didn’t seem very high (40nm), but that’s what Haynes said. Only problem was the nuts holding the steering damper to the track rod were seized solid (think someone had put threadlock on them too), and the flats...

Yeah was tempted by the extra 6 months but knew it needed sorting!

MOT fail today. Not too bothered as knew it needed tyres/exhaust. Also front steering control rod bent, which was annoying, see pics! Exhaust and steering arms off, searching for parts now! Pretty sure front wheels shouldn’t do this haha!!

Road will be fine. Was planning on getting Enduro Runway HTs- there seems to be some decent reviews on them on this forum.

I will probably go with 235s, think they look better and fill arches more. Any brands/types to recommend? Looking at mid-priced rather than BFG price! Doesn’t really go off road much (sadly).

I see there’s a couple of other tyres threads going on... I just want which best tyres are good for a standard mostly road going Disco 1- 205/80 or 235/70? Any opinions?

My Disco is currently going to need new tyres for MOT. It’s currently on a motley assortment on 205/80r16s. Should I stick with this size or Is it worth replacing them all with 235/70r16s? Do they handle better? If so what brands/makes do people recommend?

Not much to say recently- had been happily bimbling around with nothing to report until... Was planning on driving to the Lake District 2 weeks ago, when lost all drive coming out of Tesco car park! Managed to get home with difflock on (only 1/4 mile so no major issues!) Used a different car...
