    Freelander 1 Rear Parking Sensor

Advice please. 2005 Facelift 1.8 petrol. Thinking of upgrading rear bumper to one with parking sensors, so what else do I need other than the bumper/sensors itself. Believe I would need Parking sensor control module PDC ECU YWC500142 & Parking Sensor Button Switch & Housing. Is there...

    Freelander 1 Side Step Brackets

Like many others, the side step brackets have rusted to nothing. However, have found a company that has made exact replicas for both the 'bottle neck' style steps and other styles as well. These are galvanised, so won't disintegrate like the originals. Whilst not cheap, they are exactly made...

    Freelander 1 Heated Door Mirror

Just how did you get the glass out without destroying the 'clips' or the mirror itself. The recommended way is to wear thick gloves (but that stops one getting fingers behind the mirror glass). Any comments appreciated.

    Freelander 1 DS OXY SENSOR - 1.8i Facelift 2005

Thanks Nodge68, that explains the US/DS explicitly. Just need someone who knows or can use a Hawkeye on a 1.8i to see what the readings should be normally....

    Freelander 1 DS OXY SENSOR - 1.8i Facelift 2005

Hi, 2005 1.8i Freelander has fault codes P0141 (DS Oxy sensor heater) & P1191 (DS Oxy sensor heater - open circuit). When starting the engine, the DS 02 heater shows 0.006 A (which is static). When engine up to temp DS 02 sensor shows 0.475V through 0.489V So a couple of questions, I...

    Freelander 1 Facelift 2005 1,8 Petrol - Cooling Fans

What, nobody has any knowledge on the cooling fans / relays ??:(:(:(

    Freelander 1 Facelift 2005 1,8 Petrol - Cooling Fans

Am advised that the coolant fans are controlled by a relay (part no YWB100980L) as per picture below. Is this true for the facelift versions as I've also been told the fans are controlled by the ECU and not by a relay? If YWB100980L is used on the facelift 1.8 can someone tell me where this...

Freelander 1 Low Coolant Level Sensor - 1.8 Petrol Engine

According to the handbook: - Engine Malfunction - Amber Illuminates briefly when the starter switch is turned to position II. If it remains on, or illuminates at any other time, the engine management system requires attention. Stop the vehicle as soon as safety permits and switch off the...

Freelander 1 1.8 Inlet Manifold - coolant pressure device

Having looked at this recently, the jiggle valve ball is a steel 'ball bearing' (although the early models it may have been plastic), so can't see how this would work, as a steel ball bearing couldn't be semi-buoyant in coolant - or could it?

    Freelander 1 Wing/Door Mirrors

Anyone know about Freelander 1 wing mirrors and which ones are compatible with the Facelift models. Looks like the wing (door) mirrors changed but not sure which part numbers (electric or powerfold) needed for the last (2005) models. Thanks in advance.

Freelander 1 1.8 Inlet Manifold - coolant pressure device

Is it possible to check if it is working by removing the return hose from the outside of the inlet manifold - would one expect a continuous flow of coolant, a dribble of coolant, no coolant or something else?

Freelander 1 1.8 Inlet Manifold - coolant pressure device

That's one option, although to free this, one needs to remove the inlet manifold, to get to the part. So do I remove it to prevent re-occurance?

Freelander 1 1.8 Inlet Manifold - coolant pressure device

Hi experts...... on the 1.8 K series the inlet manifold has a 'ball bearing' type (possibly pressure) device that controls the coolant (and attaches the coolant hose from the inlet manifold back to the expansion tank). Understand this sometimes gets corroded and stops working and I assume this...

    No speedo and fault lights.

I agree with those who have identified an ABS sensor. Exactly the same thing happened to me and was an intermittent fault, speedo would work and then stop and the lights you have mentioned lit up. Changed one rear wheel sensor and everything went back to normal and has been like that for 6 months.

    Freelander 1 1.8 Facelift - Coolant System

So does that indicate that all the pictures I've found of the by-pass system, as per the enclosed image, are the 'upgrade' kit and only those factory installed with the coolant level sensor had the additional fitting for the return hose from the coolant level sensor?

    Freelander 1 1.8 Facelift - Coolant System

Hi, has anyone got a diagram of the coolant system for a 2005 facelift 1.8 K series. I've replaced some of the hoses and my vehicle seems to have a long hose from the low water level sensor, across the back of the engine and around to the front and attach to a fitment directly underneath the...

    Freelander 2 (LR2) Bulk-head Rust

Thanks, I'll look out for a possible response. Surprised how few comments/posts I can find on subject seeing as 8 out of 10 (not the biggest sample) FL2's I've looked at all have the same issue to some extent........
