i put that in mine, '98 300 tdi r380 box, once warmed up i have a good gear change, no problems, smooth with out clunks or trouble finding gears up or down Better than dexronII i think, which i originally put in along with a new bias plate on the gear selector, repair didn't go quite all the way...

maybe the system needs bleeding well.

the only time my one gets hot is when i hoof it on the motorway, it rises hits red then will drop to half way again, when i resume normal speed, lot of crap on my radiator that needs blowing out, dryed mud etc, and am gonna replace thermostat. Then i'll hoof it again and see where its at. May...

alternators fine then, good job, cost me around £200.00 to replace mine. Good Luck.

yeh, theres always that, alternator would be fine though as it had charged your battery enough to get you home at night, does it still have a charge in it to start it?

it should be ok then, had similar problem with mine, and turned out the alternator had seized up. What kind of Aux belt was it, i think the dayco ones are highly regarded.

can you rotate the alternator by hand?
