    Series 3 - Battery Isolator

I have a marine isolator switch (the one with a big red key) on the positive wire and is located in the seatbox. Annoying thing with it I forgot to put a permanent live to my radio so it has no memory of stations. Other than that it works perfectly

    Series 3 brakes (I think)

Some shoes Mintex in particular have square ends when they should be chamfered. This is more a problem in reverse but it can cause the shoes to catch slightly. Not really a problem in the grand scheme of things as it will eventually wear and get better as they bed in and chamfer themselves...

The adventures of Margaret (KEJ), my 1975 88"

As the great photobucket ransom situation of 2017 has ruined a fair few threads, mine included I thought I'd bang some photos up on here. Not so much a rebuild thread more a thread to document where I go with it and various maintenance jobs to keep her as my daily driver. Soon to include an...

    Gearbox crossmember removal

Welded in on standard civilian chassis. I have a good way of removing gearbox with hardtop and roof rack fitted. Rope a scaffold pole across the roof rack to one going through the cab with a chain block on it. Lift up the gearbox and slide it out the door

    Series 2 What engine

If set up right I dont think the 2.25 diesel is that bad. A lot of the naff ones dont get the cam timing sorted or the timing is out of kilter or something isnt too right Mine would still be 2.25 diesel if my granddad hadnt put the 2.5 in

    Series 2 What engine

2.5NA is a very good engine, get 33mpg out of mine. If they were as bad as people say then the army wouldnt have used them for over 20 years

    Series 3 Adjustable Seat Runners

I once ended up creating an extremely good unsiezing solution in work out of red diesel and plus gas and other things I cant remember. Was rather potent, used to free off some of my tools (work in a marine environment so tools can go rusty quite quickly), you could see clearly the rust leeching...

    Over cooling

Not got an airlock have you? I know trapped air in the system will cause the symptoms you describe, freezing cold bottom hose and hot at the top

Series 3 Diesel fuel line question

I do hate those plastic fuel lines. All the systems Ive done have been in 8mm fuel hose connected with jubilees But yes, if you have enough slack in the pipe you can pull it off cut it and refit it with no issues whatsoever

Steve Parker may make an exhaust for this conversion

Series 3 - is this an afternarket turbo?

19j, a bad one is absolutely terrible but a good one is great. One of the main problems with them is lack of maintenance. Design wise, they seem a bit of a rush job by land rover to enter the world of turbo diesel by basically bolting a turbo on to a slightly modified 12j
