P38A ABS Fault on Dash, Nothing on Nanocom?

Mines later model, 99. So can rule that out then. Just don’t understand how every time I fix something, something else immediately pops up. :(

    Brake issues

Second that. All range rovers are big heavy old beasts to bring to a halt. Really needs looking at urgently. Aren’t there any fault messages displayed on the Dash? Needs diagnostics to confirm fault.

I guess there is a senor(s) at the front of the car in the engine bay is there? Can only guess water has got in somewhere when I pulled the Thermostat out? Because I didn’t touch anything else. Will have a look later.

P38A ABS Fault on Dash, Nothing on Nanocom?

Can now start to understand why these P38's have the reputation they have...... after sorting ABS light yesterday. Tackled Thermostat tonight. Pig of a job, but got there in end. Filled it all back up, bled system, all nice and hot, and no more leak.... Go back into car to switch off...

Cheers. Know it’s awkward as had a go at nipping bolts up whilst I had Egr pump out. Any special way of bleeding system afterwards, or just usual procedure?

P38A ABS Fault on Dash, Nothing on Nanocom?

Exactly....... that’s why I decided whilst the sun was out this evening that I would dig out the Abs Ecu (whose bright idea was it to fill the floor with 600 million polystyrene balls!!) Finaly got to it and unbolted it ( again, whose idea was it to put a bolt at the top in the centre of the...

P38A ABS Fault on Dash, Nothing on Nanocom?

knew I was being optimistic. Re went over all the wiring to fuse box, cleaned all conectors, checked all home properly, cleaned relay connections etc..... and no difference at all. Will start on checking rings tomorrow.......

P38A ABS Fault on Dash, Nothing on Nanocom?

Have checked, but think will get the old electrical contact cleaner out again and clean everything up and push every thing fully home. Won’t do it any harm and will at least stop me wondering.....

P38A ABS Fault on Dash, Nothing on Nanocom?

Ok. Tested sensors voltage again. 3 showing 2.33 the other 2.35 so guess that’s all good. Will check rings when get chance (probably Monday) But in the mean time, could a dodgy relay or poor earth effect it at all? Just going back over stuff I’ve done around the time it started showing up as...

P38A ABS Fault on Dash, Nothing on Nanocom?

Without a doubt ! Some of the fellas on here know more about these beasts than LR, and certainly more than I could ever hope to know (let alone understand ) that’s why I keep coming back. Not just for my silly questions but the stuff I’ve learnt reading other threads and the hundreds...

P38A ABS Fault on Dash, Nothing on Nanocom?

Thanks Marty. Off the top of my head I remember that two of the sensors were showing 2.33v either both front or both rear, but the other two were showing either 2.6 or 2.2 something, but was the same reading for both. I'll check again in the morning. Still at a loss as to why it shows Fault on...

P38A ABS Fault on Dash, Nothing on Nanocom?

Right.... Someone earlier in thread had mentioned adjusting Brake switch so I had already got it out last night. Cleaned all contacts with electrical cleaner, pulled plunger out, refitted switch and let pedal do its stuff. Switch adjusted ok. Plugged Nanocom in and tried the No faults trick and...

P38A ABS Fault on Dash, Nothing on Nanocom?

Sorry, my mistake. Thought I’d put it in the title like I did on the other thread I have running. But for the sake of clarity it’s a 1999 2.5 DSE with Wabco D. Cheers.

P38A ABS Fault on Dash, Nothing on Nanocom?

Ok. New accumulator fitted. Full system bleed ( did it excessively to remove old fluid which was a horrible dark colour, obviously not been changed in ages!) now all nice new fluid. RAVE followed to the letter. Now pressurises after about 20-30 sec, but still still comes on every 2nd or 3rd...

P38 2.5 DSE Non starter. 1999.. Plus No Reverse..

Correct as always Stripped and cleaned, smear of sealant on o ring, reassembled and no more oil leak. Sorted minor coolant leak in that area whilst had access and all good. No drips etc after a 10 mile test drive. Thanks. Just got to sort ABS issue (see other thread) and rear brakes now...

P38 2.5 DSE Non starter. 1999.. Plus No Reverse..

Guess no one uses RonBoxes then? haha. While I'm waiting for accumulator for ABS I've started on the million other little niggly faults. One I'm not sure on and despite numerous searches, I can't find any info. There is an oil leak from the top front of the engine. From behind the EGR vaccum, I...
