Plywood covered in veltrim works and is cheap but dog hairs have to be vacc'd off. Plain black pvc vinyl would do though.

I recovered the top crash pad pf my old landy using black vinyl. Really easy job to do and looks good, plus very cheap as well. No fancy stitching or anything like that but just covered the various holes and scuffs that had appeared over its 30 years.

Are you installing it so that the cab is heated earlier and better or for some other reason. Given the poor heater on a landy even when fully warmed up would you not consider a cabin heater (webasto for example) that works form cold and works better then the original heater?

I bought a cheap set off ebay for about £100 as my old lights were knackered anyway. i had them adjusted properly at the garage and have had no issues with them scattering light or blainding other motorists.

Yes that an option Mick but more wiring and joins means more to go wrong in a landy. Especially when I have done the wiring!

Actually that's not a bad idea although the passenger seat is not electric and therefore has no switches anyway but it might well solve the problem. I am using the original land rover female seat belt receivers and not the one on the seats so that's not an issue either.

Just to update driver seat is now in. The width is almost identical to the Defender seat but its tight when you close the door with the electric seat controls tight up against the door card. I am hoping in time the door card will adjust as I now have to slam the door.

As far as I know. It had an oil change and new fan belt on it yesterday and the mechanics a landy man and usually takes a good look over. I would have thought he would have spotted worn bushes but who knows.
