GoodYear G90 tyres - any opinions?

I had a brand new set. when they were "brand new", like within the first few hundred miles, they were excellent on side slope. once they'd started to wear, they were utter crap. michelin XZL/XCL's or BFG MT's are much better, and handle better on the road.

Maybe you should get a job as a traffic warden then?

    Who's he kidding

Sounds like a piece of crap. "built like a tank" but has rust marks, speedo doesn't work and the V5 is incorrect. run away fast!

Is there a Land Rover Club in/near Bristol ?

I used to be a member of "Avon green laners" umpteen years back, run by Rob Madgewick (sp?) and Helen Bussel. we used to meet up in a pub on the Bath side of Brizzle (Can't remember the name now) The club kind of fizzled out, but I heard that some old members resurrected it again in the early...

    Clutch play & travel

You adjust the nuts to get the pedal height and it also affects where the "bite" point is, so adjust them and you should get the pedal back to how it was before. hopefully...

    losing boost pressure?

check the exhaust/inlet manifold gasket. i've had a stud come loose before (it was one right at the end) and it blew all the pressure out of there (exhaust) instead of spinning the turbine.

    51 disco radio cassette wiring

Can't find purple/orange showing on RAVE, but the red/blue is the feed for the aerial amplifier unit.

    Puma noises (not purring either)

I'd go back and say "this is customer slap" as you slap him. It should change gear nicely. Td5's do, 300Tdi's do, so why not a BRAND NEW 2009 vehicle? sounds like they're just BS'ing you until the warranty runs out, then it'll be "oh, you need a new gearbox sir"

Deep Dish Alloys on a 110

    grab handle

I can bend you up a piece of 20mm or 25mm conduit at work. let me know the width of the "arms", i can leave them as long as you like so you can trim them, maybe flatten them down so you can bolt through them to the dash.

    Fuel caps?

Vented for for "normal" setup's Sealed ones are for vehicles that have the roll-over "anti spill" kit fitted, which is just a kit with extended breathers on it which also has an anti spill trap, so if you turn over your truck (or operate it a lot at severe side slope angles) fuel won't spill...

    Transfer Box

They don't all have the same ratio though.... you can get 1.6:1, 1.4:1 and 1.2:1 (and some very early 1.1:1's) I just fitted a 1.2 into my 110, makes a huge difference, nice and quieter now (or faster if you gun it!)

    brake pedal travel

You can adjust the free play on the brake pedals. Undo the nuts that hold the master cylinder to the servo, gently pull the cylinder away and you'll see the plunger that actually pushes on the piston in the cylinder. The end of it is threaded, and with the aid of a couple of pairs of...

    glow plug solenoid issues

go to your local motor factors and have a look through their Durite catalogue. Towards the back they have all manner of glowplug timers, ranging from a few seconds to tens of seconds, plus i'm sure (my catalogue is in the garage) that they do an adjustable one. set it up how you want and...
