    thank you for your reply, but after all the stories that i'v heard i would still rather get one with a bmw engien. but i'm still not sure what year to search for, as i'm on a bit of a budget too! thank you

    I'm looking to get a freelander, but have heard some horror stories about any Freelanders that have a Range Rover engien. So i been told to only get one with a BMW engien. But i cant figure out which year the BMW engiens started being used on the Freelander. So if anyone could please let me know...
