Can this be done on a 200tdi? If so it would show the PUMP timing right or wrong, but would not quite guarantee the CAMSHAFT timing. However, if the pump was right so too should be the camshaft. Remember though, it buckled a pushrod. WHY?

WOW!!!! Now what I suggest you do is to MAKE SURE the camshaft belt has not slipped. Remember, SOMETHING HAPPENED that caused that pushrod to get mangled, and at least 99 times out of 100 that happens because the piston and valve collided. I know this might sound like a pain in the bum...

They fit them because the car makers are chicken scared to admit they knew all along that EGR is a huge waste of time and money. EGRs waste up to ten percent of the fuel in your tank! My TD5 went from an average of 27 mpg to 30+ instantly when the EGR was taken out, and it goes better too.

Did you get this fixed? Was it OIL or FUEL that was leaking?

For a diesel engine to run, it needs FUEL and AIR. If the fuel is reaching the engine out of control, then shutting off the AIR should stop it. Seems to me a simple butterfly valve across the air inlet would do the job, operated by a red button on the dash or even simply by turning the key...

Try letting the fuel level get low, take out the pump and clean the fine mesh screens in the bottom of the pump. The pump comes apart but you need to take care undoing those daft little clips. It can have miraculous effects, and might save you the price of a new pump.
