Series 3 Advice on Overdrive operation

You could BUT long term it probably wont do the O/D a lot of good .... IMHO IF you need that sort of permanent lift in the gearing you would be better going the disco diffs route

Series 3 Advice on Overdrive operation

From memory Fairey recommended that the overdrive should only be used on 3rd/4th ....However I have always used it where needed as a "Splitter" gear especially when towing . Doesn't ever seem to have had any adverse effects on any of the ones I have had AND I know several other folks that have...

Series Landrovers in the rainy Peak district

So do I .... owning two 109 FFR's one of Ex NI/VPK tends to leave you with an appreciation for Nato green stuff

Series Landrovers in the rainy Peak district

Then you SHOULD know that a "1 Tonne" has nothing to do with Landrovers a A "1 Ton" is closest to a military H/D chassis without the low geared helical box A 101" or Forward control has even less to do with a "1 Tonne" than a "Wonton" or a "Wanton" And yes I'm well aware of the sizing of the...

Other Is a lightweight narrower than other series landies?

Indeed they are heavier when "Fully dressed" ... as above only when they are stripped for lifting (Doors/roof/screen/top half of rear tub and tailgate etc )do they get close to being a "lightweight"

Series Landrovers in the rainy Peak district

No 1 TON's to be seen here ...It's just got silly tyres on ....frankly my FFR has more 1 TON in it than that lol .... No BB camo was never used on Air portables BUT the owner just fancied something different (It's actually Ex RAF and was the base commanders personal transport ) The owner was...

    Series 2 Dormobile

    Series 2 Dormobile

Yep..... Have deep pockets ;-) Six pots are loverly BUT won't like the abuse that a 2 1/44 will thrive on... 2 1/4 was an engine for farmers AND the lack of maintenance that they dole out.... Six pot came from rather more gentlemanly p4 Rovers beloved by doctors and bank managers etc and...

    19j exhaust gas temps

They "Usually" fail due to folks treating them like a 2 1/4 that will take all manners of abuse in their stride .....Ticking time bomb springs to mind, before you spend a heap of money on one . By all means try to keep ALL the temperatures down AND change the oil at least once a week ;-)
