    1 Ton is disguise ? Military 109 6Cyl

Engines only ended up "Duck egg blue" after re-furb .... Six pot bulkhead and engine BUT cant see any military commission plate, rear tub fill so no twin tanks,no six way lighting,Mili lights etc Military/Combat chassis sits very much like a 1 ton chassis BUT has lots of detail chassis details...

Land Rover Covered in Poop for the 3rd time - Should I help the bloke?

For what it's worth and from knowing the chap pretty well, and having done so for a good number of years, I personally would vouch not just for the validity of his character BUT also that he has personally helped many many folks out (often at his own expense and time) across the series world...

    Truck cab on 109 FFR

To be honest I left mine like that even after I went back to the tilt as I liked to be able to remove the roof on the rare sunny days we have ....

    Series 3 turning a 109 into a 1Ton

I'd always prefer the series look ;-) if it was me I'd be going heavy duty combat chassis, tdi and 5 speed box with permanent 4x4.... TDi will be plenty happy pulling the 900's too for the 1 ton look

    Series 3 turning a 109 into a 1Ton

Do you really need the extra payload ??? or just after the look (Genuine 1 tons are like rocking horse poo and not the easiest things to live with with the low ratio box top speed is decidedly compromised ) IF it's just the look ....then go for a "Combat/military" chassis as its basically the...

Series 2 ford transit bannana engine

If it's difficult to start in any conditions then there's other problems than Di.... Mine has chimed in within a couple of turns even at severely minus temps after being left for 6 months or so... Yup timing belt is 'supposedly' vulnerable to water however I've never had a problem... Luck of...

Series 2 ford transit bannana engine

one of my series 3's has the pre-banana engine fitted ...a bit noisy yes (Being direct injection) BUT mid to late 30's to the gallon and solidly reliable AND will pull the 88 up steep crawls without a heap of tyre shredding as its got plenty of low down torque .

    300tdi or 2.25.

Don't ditch the Turbo whatever happens ....it leads to a very asthmatic engine feels flat .... 300 is more work than a 200 BUT at least on a 109 the exhaust exit route is pretty painless as it exits straight down past the chassis rail .

Series 2 Bit concerned about Brit Part swivels - any recent experiences

Deff MOD.... BUT we'll worth fitting to any series.... Remember to soak them in oil or rub vaseline into them to make them supple for fitting AND make sure they don't rub/nip on anything when fitted. Because IF they are holed then they will actually be harmful to the swivels allowing wet and...

Lift needed for 36x10.50 tires on Series III?

To be fair ...ive never found them terribly slippy (Nowhere near as bad as aged SAG/SAT's) but then I do tend to run fully loaded with camping gear and not drive like a Nob lol

Lift needed for 36x10.50 tires on Series III?

I do love the 900 bar slips on my FFR

Series 2 Bit concerned about Brit Part swivels - any recent experiences

+1 for swivel gaiters ....out of all the many axles I have stripped over the years ...most if not all those fitted with gaiters (military) were in almost perfect order, unlike the ones without .

Lift needed for 36x10.50 tires on Series III?

yup big tyres will need a Tdi behind it to drag it along at anything like a decent pace ....AND if you don't correct the axle angles you'll be killing propshafts on a regular basis ...Also depending on how high there will be some scalloping of the chassis needed for clearance etc,AND steering...

Series 3 bracket on bulkhead replacement

Only started it on the street.... Neighbours were fine as they know who to ask for help... And front wings/panel went back on each night and it was still taxed mot'd

Series 3 bracket on bulkhead replacement

To be fair the bulkead was mullered ....the drivers side still isnt great after years of corrosion allowing the roof to compress everything ....It'll be getting a new bulkhead at some point after I finish fitting the 300 Tdi passenger side wasnt much better lol

    S3 Lightweight 200tdi/LT77 conversion

Ok so you fit an engine/transmission to your series that it was never intended to have AND you are surprised it doesnt drop straight in lol..... The position you have is pretty much bang on the same as the one in my other halves 88" S2a .....bit of trimming of a defender gearbox tunnell...
