Mine has always (occasional) hissed and buzzed once switched off. It's just "settling down".
I'd be looking into the bongs on start up- that's not normal afaik.
Silly question- do you park on even ground or a slope? Could effect the thought process of a D2 7 seater.
You HAVE to get the one recommended for a Disco2 or the insurance is void.
If you're rear ended an incorrect one could go through the fuel tank and torch the car!
Doesn't matter whether you thrash it or treat it like a god. It will break as and when it sees fit. Had mine 13 years, had it all go wrong (some of it three times over). Could list it all, but I want to be in bed by midnight.
Normal breaker bar etc is a bit under tooled. I bought a 1000Nm torque wrench for the job. Needed to correctly torque the nut back up to 490Nm when new one goes on.
Can't beat a larger than needed tool for making hard jobs easy. (Cost £70 off eBay, but I've hanged 5 hubs now, so I've got my...
I have to pay for the codes to be read, as I don't have a tester.
The info I get is relayed to me as (eg);
"Intermittent fault, abs sensor ring, rear left"
I then change (eg) the rear left hub and fault is cured (after fault lights reset again)
This has happened a couple of times (changed 5...
If you get the codes read "properly" then there's none of all this guess work! That's the idea, they tell you where fault is.
Codes will all clear the lights except ABS, as said you need to drive it to clear it.
If I were a gambling man I'd bet you DO have a sensor issue and you WILL be...
I'd say that's your garages issue to sort, they didn't need to touch the sensor. I'd ask them to rectify and then never use them again as they clearly have no idea what they're doing!
Changing hub is diy, (plenty of guides about) and is an hour MAX, especially for a garage
Re no3 question. If it has air suspension (all D2 7 seaters had air) then it makes brrrrr noises and sometimes hisss's etc after switch off (especially if you take something heavy out the back after stopping) this is the suspension settling itself and is normal.
Re the rest- it will make noises...
Anywhere from 1 to 4K depending on condition, spec, who's selling, where you're selling, who you're selling to, when you're selling and other variables!
(Sorry not helpful, but true, might as well ask the string question)
Presume he meant so much coming out it tracked along.
Heard of many people "fixing" or "refurbishing" FPR's, then having to do it "properly" (ie replace it!)
