    Flushing Axle With Water?

Thanks for the replies. As an update.. the front diff that I removed was in surprisingly good condition. No metal pieces whatsoever. It was easy to turn the entire crownwheel and pinion assembly by turning the input flange however. A bit too too freely in my opinion. I suspect that was a...

    Flushing Axle With Water?

Greetings, I am planning to replace the front diff on the 110 this weekend by installing my newly acquired Ashcroft 4-pin, pegged diff. I suspect that just like the previous 2 front diffs my current diff's crown wheel and pinion will not be in very good condition and hence the diff casing...

    Need help diagnosing brake noise

Thanks. To be honest this looks very familiar. I will check it out. At this price I won't lose sleep if it is wrong.

    Need help diagnosing brake noise

I was looking for one of these sets earlier and had some difficulty finding the part # that would fit my caliper.

    Need help diagnosing brake noise

Greetings, Defender 110 with td5/rover axles, all round disc brakes. When I brake, even ever so slightly, I hear a loud, distinct "clack" or some would describe it as a click. Happens 90% of the time and has gotten worse over the last 3 weeks. Almost sounds like the pad is struck as it travels...

    Driver side door alignment

Thanks for the replies as usual. You both were on the right track. I only started to get better results after adding shims/spacers to the door side of the hinge whilst removing some from the pillar side. It closes and catches now but.. still way to go.

    Driver side door alignment

Greetings Having just purchased a new door striker and catch assembly for the 110, trying to align them after installation is killing me! The bloody door just would not close fully and firmly. Thing is.... with the door seal removed it closes fully and catches. But with the seal in place it is...

    Removing hand brake assembly

Greetings Can I remove the hand brake assembly internals, put the rear and front covers back on and drive the 110? This is temporary by the way... just to locate the source of a noise I am experiencing whilst driving.

    Injector Nozzles

Bearmach injector nozzles for the 300tdi engines. Can they be trusted or should I spend more and go with BOSCH? I know Bearmach is considered by many to be close to or equal to OEM. Thanks in advance.

    Why so much oil??

Smoke is constantly there not just at cold start. No halfmoons on the 300tdi to my knowledge... at least not on mine. I will explore the option of a new cap.

    Why so much oil??

Thanks for the reply. Some more info then: 1. Oil is making it's way past the oil cap and staining the sound deadening cover. If I unscrew the cover and leave it in position when the engine is running the cover dances around but is never dislodged. 2. I am getting a blueish/grey smoke out...

    Why so much oil??

Greetings, 300tdi. After getting a consistant oil leak from the rocker cover I removed it to investigate and found what I deem to be an excessive amount of oil in the top of the cylinder head. See attached pics. Engine has 93,000 miles on it and otherwise performs ok. Why would this much oil be...

    Rear brakes clattering

There goes my confidence in my theory.... Hope it is not indeed the calipers. We will see I guess..

    Rear brakes clattering

I have this identical issue with the rattling as well. It is almost as if you wrote about my experience. At the slight touch of brakes it goes away as well. New pins and springs only reduces the rattling for a couple days. What I think is the cause of mine is the condition of my disc/rotors...

    It’s Broken!

My vote is on the small wire with the spade connector on the starter motor. Works loose with the result being an intermittent start.

Thanks! I am lost as to why the pump came without the nuts and olives .

    300tdi Lift Pump Query

The attached photo shows my old lift pump and the one I plan to replace it with. Two questions please: 1. Are I supposed to purchase the olives for the piping separately? If so, what size? 2. In the attached photo on the old pump is that a spacer or a gasket? It appears too thick and brittle...
