    TD4 (2004) Injector problem

Fair point to note, seems can't be a bad thing buying a new injector, as it is definitely injector related. Cheers, A

    TD4 (2004) Injector problem

Hi Kevin, this chap makes it look easy ...only once engine is warm. The threads online say if any leak back happens then the injector needs replacing, because when hot the pressure can't build sufficiently to start. My diagnostic reader (iCarsoft i930) shows up to three times less pressure...

    TD4 (2004) Injector problem

Hi Folks, I've a freelander TD4 automatic transmission and it's becoming harder to start every time it warms up. Followed up on a number of posts in this site and finally found the problem: a leak back test showed the first injector on the fuel rail is leaking back with ignition to key pos 1...

    starting problem

Hi Xam, On the leak back test, when you disconnected the fuel tube, sealed it (clamped it) and just turn to power on position, does fuel slowly emerge from the first injector? If so (and if fuel DOESNT emerge from the other three injectors) then that first injector is leaking back to tank...

TD4 irregular poor start when hot

Hi Lenny, Yea the fault is power related to the air conditioning system, only showed up recently. I'll try the volt tests today thanks. Also I'll check resistance across cam circuit to ecu once I locate wiring diagram on Rave.

TD4 irregular poor start when hot

Hey there, I've had this problem for over a year with only 30k on clock, a TD4 BMW variant (from 2004-2006). The freezer test showed my cam sensor was at fault but when replaced with new 150 quid sensor still no joy. Changed the crank sensor (which actually keeps engine running once...

    TD4 112HP starting problem

Hi folks, just to update I'm still unable to solve my warm start problem. Engine cranks for about 20 seconds before what appears a very smooth start, it's as uv something very clearly is impeeding the starting process from happening for that 20 seconds... I did a diag and found a power problem...

    TD4 112HP starting problem

Thanks Epi, reading through the three amigo posts on landy zone it appears most are linked to break lights not working or abs problem. My break lights work so could be abs...probably best to book a diagnostic check at dealer and drive over with the three amigos on, see what their diag reads

    Electrostatic discharge protection

I can understand a printed circuit board being especially prone to ESD and whenever working on changing parts of a computer would work with wrist strap plugged to Earth. The crank sensor is encapsulated in what appears is a plastic body in which case would already be insulated from ESD...
