    Value of my landy

What, mine? With a galv chassis, recon transfer box and new everything?

    Respray costs and thoughts

Ok next question as I have the money now, so I'm just trying to find a location before I start ordering bits. Any suggestions on removing the bulges left by stuff being thrown into the back? So like inverse dents.

    Value of my landy

My stepdad was talking to the guy at Wardmans. Apparently the supply of defenders has completely dried up, so I would have expected the price to go up. But yes I reckon they have gone down, figure mine is worth £5500 which sucks

    Respray costs and thoughts

Haha, I have a love hate relationship with it. I like working on it, and am pleased with the way it turned out, but I don't use it at all and every time I go to use it something else needs doing. I like the snorkel, I'm just wondering if it is worth more without it as when I tried to sell it I...

    Respray costs and thoughts

I probably wouldn't risk it to be honest. I'm reasonably fond of being alive... So I'm looking at a fair outlay for some stuff that I'm probably not going to use again. Would be a good skill to learn though

    Respray costs and thoughts

Ok, I'm getting slightly more interested in the self spray idea. How much would the outlay be assuming I have nothing and could possibly borrow the compressor from the farm if I had to? Then I guess I would have to take the sunroof out and everything else off? I'll get new end caps I think...

    Respray costs and thoughts

Haha, not really. But from what I have seen lately with galv chassis defenders you either seem to get £5000 for an ok one, or £10k plus for a great looking one

    mazda rx8 seats

Nope, they are all the same. The leather ones are all heated with electric drivers and the cloth ones are manual without heating. Mine are cloth as I didn't have aircon and didn't want to be sweaty, but as far as I have read the electric bit is pretty easy to do.

    Respray costs and thoughts

Yep, I have considered doing it myself, but I was a little disappointed last time. You are right, it was done in a damp shed, but I don't really have anywhere else, especially in the winter. Even yesterday I finished some patching up, removed the masking tape, and it pulled off a load of paint...

    Respray costs and thoughts

Yeah, I'm not sure who to take it to yet. I don't think anyone round me would want to do a land rover. Other than a couple of outie dents in the side panels it is actually reasonably straight for a defender. I just need to decide whether to try and straighten the bonnet or buy a new one

    Respray costs and thoughts

Ok, thanks. As it is ali, do I need to take it back to bare metal? It will also have new wings and doors, I guess provide them to the paint shop unattached?

    Respray costs and thoughts

Hey, So I might have a bit of cash available soon, so thought I would use it to finally try and finish my defender body wise. I was just wondering if any of you knowledgeable fellows know approx how much it would cost for a full respray in metallic paint? I would probably remove everything...

    iPad for gps in Morocco?

Ok, maps.me would work like that. Or "here maps" if you can get it on an ipad is very good and uses the same system you see in a lot of cars. I haven't tried garmin

    iPad for gps in Morocco?

I used an app called maps.me. It worked really well for what we needed it for and had downloadable maps for all of the countries we traveled through. Oh, and it's free. If you have data just use google maps

    James's 90

Got some more paint on the axles and have roughly got it back together. I'm using a couple of years old tin of rustoleum and it is covering terribly, has anyone found this? I also got the spring painted, came out ok but not brilliant. I also decided to fix a corner that got smushed while green...

    Door options- help!

Wow. Keith Gott told me that this set of doors that they have in are the last ones that they will be getting ever. I have the parts numbers for most parts of the TDCi doors now, but feel it may be cheaper to go for the galv normal ones, everyone has parts for those. I just like the idea of...

    Road tyres....read on

I have Pirelli Scorpion Verde's on my CX-5, so far have been impressed with them. They handle very well on the road and I took it up some very steep wet grass and didn't manage to lose traction at all even with the limited AWD system on my car. I know they are mostly road biased tyres but so far...

    How to fit a Radio

That looks like a standard TD5 dash to me. You could get something aftermarket to replace it but not my area. Is it the right height for a double din stereo? Looks a little narrow height ways to me? If it fits just buy one, it will come with a cage, fit the cage then fit the stereo, simple...
