    Fitting Cobra Immobiliser

That was my next thought after voltages, but that wouldn't make sense with the fuses on those circuits on the defender wiring diagram. After some googling, I have found some mentions (e.g. UKSaabs • View topic - Doh! I should know this: +30 & +15 Connections) of these codes as a shorthand...

    Fitting Cobra Immobiliser

Thanks! I think I'm getting my head around this now. I was getting confused by thinking the +30 referred to +30v - am I right in thinking that the ones labelled +15 and +30 will actually connect to 12v lines? Is +15 just a shorthand for switched 12v and +30 shorthand for constant 12v?

    Fitting Cobra Immobiliser

In the hopes of making my replacement 300Tdi 90 harder to steal than the last one, I've bought a Cobra 8510 Immobiliser to fit (along with a tracker which is on its way from Ryder and some other hardware) The instructions don't have much explanation with them so I'm a little unsure about the...

    Stolen - Warwickshire

Studley, near Redditch. Just found out that another one was taken from the village on the same night - looks like an organised gang came into the area to take what they could. Yep. I reckon the disklok must have been defeated.

What have you done to your Landie today.

Sprayed the inside of my defenders chassis with dinitrol (the extended spraying kit I got with the cans from frosts made this really easy) Scraped, prepped and painted (POR-15 and topcoat) one quarter of the chassis - time consuming but satisfying work. It's looking really good this morning...

    Viscous fan nightmare

Got it sorted! The super helpful guys at MJA Land Rover in Bromsgrove managed to get it off (took two of them and much bigger tools than I have) Apparently, at some point someone decided it was a good idea to put loads of thread lock on the bolt so that explains the difficulty. Just need to...

    Viscous fan nightmare

If they tightened the same way they turned, that would make them unscrew with the turning of the crank. By tightening in the opposite direction (and thus loosening in the direction of movement), the rotation of the crank will tend to tighten them if anything. But yes, at some point this...

    Viscous fan nightmare

I'd settle for feeling like a tit at this point if it gets the bloody fan off!

    Viscous fan nightmare

My wife has suggested I admit defeat, phone a landrover main dealers in the morning and see if I can get them to sort it out. Is a main dealers likely to have special tools that will make this a lot easier?

    Viscous fan nightmare

Cheers - just tried that. Seems this nut doesn't shock easily... Might have to call it a day for now and try a renewed assault tomorrow. :(

    Viscous fan nightmare

Yeah - checked that. I'm trying to turn it clockwise as you look at the front of the engine - same way the fan rotates (so I'm hitting the top of the spanner towards the passenger side)

That's what I've been trying but it's just not budging at all :(

    Viscous fan nightmare

Well, attacking it after a drive to heat the engine hasn't helped. :-( It was a nice drive at least... Any other ideas?

    Viscous fan nightmare

hmm, my engine is cold as I have just drained the coolant as per the instructions I'm following Well, I say 'just' - I mean several hours ago before I started on the bloody viscous fan... Will get coolant back in, warm engine up and have another go. Cheers.

    Viscous fan nightmare

I am now officially at war with the big nut for the viscous fan on my 300tdi Defender. I have the correct viscous fan spanner for it and I've tried everything I could find in previous threads on the topic to budge it but it just will not loosen in the slightest. I am trying to loosen it...
