Just drill out the rivets and slide them towards the rear crossmember. It should be possible to get them out sideways where the chassis drops down.

What I love about the series is it so understated, it doesn't seem to attract the same ire from the anti 4x4 brigade! Maybe they feel series owners are punishing themselves enough already!!

The steering relay mounted in the front cross member can also wear badly, jack the front axle clear to check for play in that!

Probably worth checking Paddocks prices for doors before shopping for used! If the doors are tired the hinges are probably not great either and the Defender '95 on hinges have a washer in them which stops them rusting and wearing as fast!

I believe that it's possible to fit a defender heater in a series, although it requires some minor surgery and quite a bit of work!
