Christ! Good to know the steels can be had, did they say in which style and offset?

    Disco 2 17" steel wheels

Might be worth giving these guys a call though, they've got 17's listed but not in the right PCD as far as I can see - Silverline Wheels and Tyres: 4x4 Steel Wheels

    Disco 2 17" steel wheels

Well I didn't want to comment because I'm probably wrong, but I've read loads on D2 wheel and tyre combos, UK, AUS and US forums and never heard of 17" steel wheels. 15s & 16s plenty. Not to say they're not out there but I've haven't seen any so far.

    Greg's TD5 DII project

I think it would be more of an issue if you didn't have the correct 7 seater coil springs on.

    Greg's TD5 DII project

From my research on the subject (not stating as 100% fact, just what I've read) the D2 at launch didn't have type approval for seven seaters on coil springs. Later on however they did gain type approval, so some rolled out the factory with seven seats and coil springs. Land Rover part numbers...

Surely the cost of the tyres will outweigh any benefit on fuel saving. They're hardly special tracks are they.

Well I'm already meeting the others at the little chef on the A31 and I think we then go to the site the opposite way in to the way you're on about. Fancy just meeting us at the little chef? Can either meet at 9am if you fancy a disappointing fry up, or just meet at 9.45 ready to go, up to you...

That means the MAF is screwed I believe. If you unplug it the ECU uses default readings. You should notice it drives better unplugged if it is goosed.

    Winch choice help

Well just to add a conclusion to this thread, I eventually ordered a Goodwinch TDS 9.5c with Dyneema rope. Way above my original budget, but hopefully avoiding the buy cheap buy twice situation. Look forward to testing it out!

    Strange braking problems

I've had the same on mine ever since I bought it, I know a couple of others that have too. First press is normal, second press if done quickly after the first is firm. Still works though so that's alright with me :D
