    Overheating on Emissions Test

Yippeeeee!!!!! Radiator done, no bleeding required, no air, all running perfectly. The only slight hicup we had was that the fan assembly wouldn't come away from the radiator that was to be fitted. Hubby had to hacksaw through the bolts. But it didn't matter as all went well. All booked...

    Overheating on Emissions Test

Well we now know what the problem is. And it's nothing to do with the HG yipppeeeee :) But it is an expensive problem or could be. There is a crack in the base of the radiator which only shows up when vehicle gets up to temperature. Therefore have been advised by my mechanically minded...

Hi Northern Irelander Lolol :o I haven't done anything to it this time, honest. She's been running really well since the last scenario of the timing etc. The problem only occured this time when I took it for MOT. According to what our CTO (Central Transport Office) told me, when they revved...

Where do you buy your odds and ends on line?

I recently used the following website and they gave me plenty of places to choose from. You type in the part you want and it searches them out for you. I needed a brake caliper for my 1999 1.8 and had to have the specific on for 99 as they were modified and updated. Brilliant service from the...

    Retraction of Brake Piston

    Retraction of Brake Piston

Update. Have now replaced brake pads on the passenger side (the piston retracted perfectly) but on the drivers side it has completely seized. My query now is, can I just replace the piston or do I need to replace the whole caliper unit?

    Changing Intank Fuel Pump TD4

Hi All Last year I had horrendous problems with my Freelander (anyone interested can find my previous posts). However, I digress. One of the tasks I undertook was to change the fuel pump (the one under the rear seat). It took half and hour :) Only because I paused for a cuppa lolol...

Freelander loss of power at 70mph

Hi Not sure if I can point you in the right direction. It turned out to be the timing pulleys in my case. When the garage took the head off they must have knocked them and in the rush to get it all back together again didnt bother to check and adjust. Hope that helps - but am sure there...
